A new and better Christmas this year

This may well be one of the best Christmases ever. You might wonder why. Well, here’s the answer. No pressure! We are always adding to our food pantry donations and we have no pressure regarding fighting the crowds to buy Christmas gifts for friends and family. We have mailed out donations to the charities that we support.

Mr. Pop and I will exchange small “for fun” gifts and Fred the Cat will receive his bag of coal…oops, his new bed and cat stuff, but that’s it for gift buying. We can just sit back, relax and enjoy the hell out of the tree, lights and the spirit of the season. Christmas morning we will know that we helped make some people’s Christmas a lot better, especially this year. That’s the only gift we need. I don’t remember ever feeling like this before. I like it.

I always find that 'giving' puts me in the Christmas spirit more than 'getting'.

And it seems you'll be avoiding goofy visitors/traveling, too? This really might be the bestest Xmas ever, Charlie Brown.

My blog friend and great friend of many years J.Marquis (his blog is Major Conflict, linked at my site) said that he Mrs. Marquis are doing that this year, that is making charitable donations instead of buying lotsa gifts and junk. I'd like to start doing that kind of thing too. At my age, I basically have all the stuff I need, as well as the most important things like Mrs. Snave, Baby Mackie, Zeke, Abby and Zeva, and Tweetledumb and Birdlington. We already have spent lot of dollars on lots of things this year, but next Christmas will be a great time to start doing it in a more meaningful way. Thanks for the inspiration!
