What a Great Appointment
Could anything be sweeter than President-elect Obama’s appointment of Army General Shinseki to head the Department of Veterans Affairs? I wonder if Rumsfeld’s head ached or actually exploded when he heard the news.

An outstanding choice and vindication for Shinseki who was dissed big time by Bushco asshats, thereby dissing all of veteran-dom.

I was really happy about this appointment. Veterans' issues have been ignored for too long.
here at chez bums we saw the appointment as a poke in the eye to w, or at least an upraised central digit. and of course a boon to vets.
Maybe the best one yet when it comes to changing the way things are.
Hearing about this appointment made me all warm inside. The times they are a'changin'!

I got a major warm-fuzzy from this appointment, big time.
I was happy about this appointment, too. He seems to me to be someone who actually cares about the rank-and-file soldiers who will stand up for their needs. That's part of the reason he was forced out during the Bush reign.
