Freecycling my way to an orderly, clean garage. Probably talking with my fave local Obama rep re: Saturday's national event, apologizing that all of my very vocal left-wing nut-job friends are otherwise previously engaged, so our gathering will have to be held another weekend...unless ... do you think she'd take her presentation to the beach? 'Cause THAT's where my peeps want to be!
Oooh Zilla -- I so LOVE freecycle. It was how I dealt with getting rid of my stuff when I moved last year.
One woman who had been left in the night by her husband and had two boys and almost no furniture took a ton of stuff. She just looked at this one table and said "I can see my boys coloring on that table."
She cried, I cried. I love freecycle.
Anyway, what is on my mind today?
I am struggling with the use of labels and qualifiers as a way to denigrate others. I don't like that I do it but I do.
There is a post about that but it has yet to emerge.
Well, right now I am sitting in my back yard drinking a cup of coffee wondering if I should cut my lawn or get on the motorcycle and get some wind in in my hair. I think I'll go with the motorcycle.
How I would rather stay home than go to Busch Gardens today! And how I would really treasure time for spirituality practise How I would treasure QUIET!
Took off of work to deal with a personal issue which has clouded a lot of my thinking lately - Today, I took a very pro-active step in settling it, and I hope my efforts have not been in vain.
Other than that, I am thinking about my 50th birthday which is less than a month away...
We just rented a little house, and today we're going to sit in it and wait for the cable-internet guy to show up. The good thing about this house is that it has fruit trees and rosemary in the yard. The bad thing is that it's old-- yellow-formica and lime-green tile old.
We registered to vote in our new hometown. I can't wait for November to get here.
I'm sittin' thinking my dad needs a hearing aid in order to be able to hear overall, but most especially to here mom, whose voice has become very soft as a result of Parkinson's. It's quite a comedy watching them try to communicate. My dad is in the kitchen singing that song that Richard Harris sang in Camelot, "How to Handle a Woman?"
ooooooooohhh-- freecycling! it was a godsend when I moved last year. I was even able to recycle all those boxes that carted my stuff down here. not to mention the freak stuff like a pair of mukluks and a snow shovel that were transported accidentally. xxx jump forward 1 year: spent the day visiting friends and waiting out today's rain to see if I'd be able to swim. I wasn't. :( oh, well, we need the rain.
what would happen if we could enlist people from Indiana to FL: if we all hooked our garden hoses together, could we siphon the water from there to here?

No politics today. I am working on fun stuff today and I won't allow it to be ruined by politics.
I think you should do a post about the overwhelming apathy in this country.

What I'm thinking?
When will the manager let me run the milkshake machine?
I've been on the deep fryer for months.
I've primarily been thinking of where to move next to escape the southern NeoCon morass I am surrounded by.
getting though the day and not pitching some form of a bitch fit.
Helped my friend with an video art project today.
Took my mind off FISA for a while. Back to wailing and gnashing of teeth and rude phone calls to senators tomorrow!
