Will you? When?

Have you made a financial campaign contribution to any of the 2008 presidential candidates?
If you have, will you give more?
If you haven’t made a financial campaign contribution to any of them yet, do you plan to and when?

I’m curious because I’m still holding onto my money. I’ll contribute to one of them but not now.

The way it sounds they don't need us. There's plenty of millionaires out there willing to buy them.

SO far, there's really and truly no one I feel comfortable with. Besides, they started a year earlier than usual, so I'm waiting 'til next yr.

Money? They already get enough from me, and certainly aren't listening to anything I have to say, or anyone else, so I too will hang on to what little, and I mean little I have! ; (

Whatever small amount I could contribute would not be enough to sway the candidates away from their billionaire owners point of view. Unless it's Kucinich, since he seems to be the only one who will do what the people want.

I have already sent money to Edwards after the first Coulter assault and am considering sending some for to help with Iowa. He is the only candidate I can see right now that resonates at all with my politics. Hillary people have been after me hard but I haven't given in yet.

Nothing yet, but I usually give my spare change to bums on the street, poor musicians, or to animal shelters. I might give a small amount later -- depending on who ends up being the candidate. So... my answers are:

No.
No.
It depends, and not sure.

I don't give money, I will give my time.
I sign up to give people rides to the polls on election day, have for years.
I love it. They are usually older people, and I love to hear their stories about elections long ago.

I have a hard time wanting to give to someone who may very well betray your confidence at the interest of Corporate America.

Don't they all do this?

I'm not giving a penny to any of these people. If they want to be Lucy Van Pelt with the football, fine. I'm not going to be Charlie Brown...

I'm with you - I'm holding out until next year. This election, the season is WAY too long.

I haven't contributed yet, and it looks like they're doing very well without me. This campaign "season" is too long, and it seems way too early to be thinking about primaries. I'd like to contribute to a Gore candidacy, but if he doesn't toss his hat in the ring, I'll see which of these politicians seems least repugnant to me.

Depends on who gets nominated. Senator Clinton won't get a dime. Senator Obama might get a bit. Senator Edwards might get a bit.
I'm holding back until I know who will be running - and against whom.

Not a drop.
American Cancer Society.
Nature Conservancy.
March of Dimes.
Children's Miracle Network.

I let the politicians fend for themselves.

But I will donate datil pepper seeds to you. Just let me know if you are interested ... I saw your lament at my favorite left coast hippies' site ...

If I donate it will be nominal, and only then if it is fora candidate who is short on cash and will otherwise see their campaign suffer from lack of cash.

i am expressing my disgust by so far refusing to donate. with the exception of a fit of pique following a fund raising call from hillary's folks. the bastards not only wanted me to contribute to them, they wanted me to pledge to contribute only to them. i hung up and made a small donation to bill richardson. i recently told a staffer of harry mitchell's re-election staff that i was far too busy playing harp and bagpipes at the funerals of kids he has failed to bring home from iraq to be worried about whether or not he has a fucking job after the next election.

p.s. tell fred thanks for the suggestions, they are in the running with my daughter's suggestion of "hapsutshet" and "boudica"

I'll contribute when tv and media folks contribute air time. Where do you think all of the contributors' money goes? Almost all of it to television ads.

I've switched all my donations to watchdog groups because all of our politicians refuse to listen to the people and I no longer have any trust in them.

I'm waiting for them to donate to me.

I figure $100-200 million is sufficient payment for putting up with their crap for the last 25+ years.

I think it's a scandal, all this preoccupation with candidates who won't be around for another year and a half! The world could be a wasteland by then.

Looks to me like a diversion to take the people's minds off the real issue: getting rid of Bushco.

I will contribute - when there is a real campaign. Possibly in a primary towards the end of this year, probably not until the general election.
