One pissed off Cat

Fred the Cat here and I’m mad as hell. If this man is guilty as charged, he is a disgrace to your species.

“The Atlanta Falcons quarterback -- the league's second-highest paid player -- on Tuesday was indicted by a federal grand jury on multiple charges related to illegal dogfighting.

Vick and three others are accused of violating federal laws against staging dog fights, gambling and engaging in unlawful activities across state lines. The 18-page indictment includes specific and graphic details of Vick and others running Bad Newz Kennels and executing dogs that didn't perform well by methods such as hanging, drowning, electrocuting, shooting and "slamming at least one dog's body to the ground."

What kind of humans would do something like that? Makes me sick to my feline stomach. If you humans want to fight and kill one another, that’s one thing, but forcing animals to fight and kill one another for your entertainment is an idea that only your species could have thought of.

Have a great weekend and give your pets a special hug from me

Sincerely,
Fred the Cat (the cat who loves you guys)

Yes Fred he would be a disgrace to our species, if he is found guilty.

But will he be found guilty? He can afford some high priced lawyers, ya know. Bush would only end up commuting his sentence anyway.
Have a great weekend.

Fred,

Vick needs to be put away for life. His torture and cruelty towards animals is a sign that he is a psycho. He murders innocent animals for his pleasure and amusement, he is not a human (in my opinion) on the same level as most.

Darling Fred, I was stunned and horrified when I heard about this on CNN, I knew about Cock Fighting, also a terrible thing nut in my wildest dreams could I have imagined something like this. I haven't thrown up in 26 years but seeing and hearing of this the other night broke my streak and gave nightmares for several nights. what he did to those poor innocent animals should be done to him.

Silly me; when I first read the headlines I thought that this was one of those hip pop culture euphemisms for some other activity that I wasn't familiar with . I SO wish that was the case, since the reality is pretty sickening. What's worse is that the NFL doesn't seem inclined to react.

I'm getting my adopted mom to write this because I'm unable to.

This man is a disgrace to humanity.....

There are no words for this type of cruelty...

But what can we expect from a specie who has no problem with torturing and killing their own...

Very sad..when will they get it?

I was so upset by this news that I could only read it with one eye and my head tilted away from the horror. What is it with people finding pleasure in aggression? What has gone horribly wrong with the human species for that to be a pastime? You can probably hear the dismay in my voice.

I avoided this news story. I hope this Vick character is given a nice long jail sentence. I have seen on Keith Olbermann's show the Running of the Bulls in Pamplona. What is it with humans and their need to kill animals for sport and amusement? We are a very sick species.

hi fred, i am her highness boudica, warrior queen of minstrel's barn. minstrel has told me to personally inform you that i have assumed the duties and title of the noble barn monster who fell in single combat with rattlesnakes. his death was avenged by chico the rescue burro in an appropriate way.

i sometimes am at a loss to explain the behavior of humans. one simply cannot fathom those who would do something like that and call it "sport." out here in the barn we do have our wars. the rats and mice will always try to get to the grain and hay, they will always try to chew the leather tack. the snakes will always try to come in after their share of the rats and mice. there is a big difference between our fights for survival within the natural order of things and these arranged contests that those vile men have staged.

our lives are filled enough with the neccessary struggles. we do not need to have our fights contrived.

as my august predecessor, the barn monster used to say:

death to mices

He should spend a few years in prison but why focus your fire on an uneducated moron with a 102 IQ?

How about the leftist media maggotry who've made heroes out of "gangsta rappas" and athletes with "street cred" such as Vick and Alan ( 17 convictions and counting) Iverson?

Most of THEM have at least normal intelligence.

They should make him play the entire season without pay and without his equipment.

No helmet, no pads, no shoes.

He'd last about six, seven minutes.

Let's not forget that they'd feed those dogs gunpowder so that they'd feel sick and then lock them in a closet with a cat to heighten "kill" instinct. Throwing these guys in a tank with starving white sharks would be too merciful.

If guilty, it sounds as though it's not for money, with him being second highest paid player in the league, then it must be for the "sport". The people who enjoy horrible cruelty like that should get to fight each other, pay per view, for the rest of their ilk.
Stupid humans!

And by the way, Fred the cat, you are looking absolutely marvelous, tonight!

Hey Fred,

I know some people from the ATL and word on the street is that Vick was pretty high up in the "scene".

He is going down for sure. Serves him right.

For all of you who expressed confusion as to humans' fascination with aggression, I have no answers.

But the NFL's popularity itself proves that there is a certain appeal there.

We created the pitbull's aggression through generations of breeding for that trait, in the same way we created my Lab's love of water, bringing things back, and webbed feet.
The pitbulls in the pending case are too be pitied for their suffering and for the frankendogs we have made them. It is a breed that should be allowed to fade away.

We created celebrities who get away with ridiculous salaries and breaches of law that would land most of us in the pokey through a bizzarre fascination and adoration of humans who can throw a ball well, run fast, recite lines, or play music.
Humans seem to crave royalty of one kind or another.
Fascinating.

They just recently got around to banning cock fighting here. Great, now what took so damn long? The sick thing about it is that some opposed the ban! I say we round up those idiots like that and let them get their thunderdome on. If they like blood and carnage so much, let them be the main attraction. Maybe they won't like it so much if they are the ones to have to face animals. I would love to see someone like him or Cheney in an arena with the lions set loose!

Fred! Sorry I've been such a slacker, but am in no way surprised to see you've posted on teh Vick. Freakin' scumbag, ain't he?

Ya know, his younger bro got in trouble while in college. Got suspended even. So Mike told the press he was going to go help him out. Get him back on the right track, or something. Turns out it was the "or something" cuz the next thing you know, younger bro is arrested for firing a gun in a parking lot somewhere.

Dude is soooo done. Though not Officially 'til his trial is over.

Sick sad world it is, Fred. Glad to see you venting, and with LOTS of friends to help.

Take care now. L8

Floridacracker, I have to respond to your post. It is true that despicable human beings like Vick and the lower life criminals without the big names who also promulgate this hideous "sport" have bred pit bulls to fight. However, the breed is not vicious and should not be allowed to "fade away."

I own a rescued American Pit Bull Terrier who loves people so much that she wags at passing cars. Yes, you do have to be careful with other dogs but if the other dog is nice to her, she'll be nice to the other dog.

My dog has passed her Temperament Test and her Canine Good Citizen Test.

Pit bulls are being used as therapy dogs, rescue dogs, and bomb and drug-sniffing dogs. They are loyal companions and best friends. Do not tar all of the breed with the same brush.

I am very glad Vick was caught and I hope the publicity will make people crack down further on dog fighting. It's the dogs that are bred for this horrendous life that are part of what makes pit bulls have a bad reputation. And it increases demand for poorly bred dogs bred by backyard breeders hoping to make a fast buck. So the sooner it is wiped out the better for all, including the dogs who are the victims.
