Holiday Busy
Mr. Pop will be out hunting and gathering today for tomorrow’s feast. Okay, he’s actually going to the market to pick up the fresh turkey we ordered two weeks ago.
Me, I’ll be chaining myself to the stove this morning and beginning the preparations for the feast. First chore of the day is baking the cornbread for the dressing tomorrow. My mother’s old cast iron skillet will be in use. For the first time in a long time I’m in the mood for cooking and drinking and laughing all through the days of this holiday.
Here’s a toast to everyone for a wonderful Thanksgiving and the weekend to follow.
Just a post script, you couldn’t get me near any stores Friday even if you held a gun to my head.
Happy Thanksgiving, you turkeys!

Happy Turkey Day
There's is no way I'd go shopping this weekend. I celebrate this weekend by buying absolutely nothing.

No Friday shopping! (I'd hate to get killed in a stampede) Walmart is giving away 50 big LCD TV's, and I know somebody's gonna get hurt...
Have a Happy Thanksgiving PoP. I will be in the kitchen as well though not with the traditional bird. I'm doing braised lamb shanks instead though I will miss my favorite part of the holiday meal which is cornbread-sausage dressing.
I may still make as I can't stand the idea of not having it.
I am probably going to miss my post holiday turkey sandwich as well.
How do you know I'm a turkey? Perhaps I'm a chicken!
Happy Thanksgiving!

happy happy to all
Val, I cannot believe it's you. When my old computer died I lost all my emails and addresses. I was afraid you and I would never connect again. How are you and Mr. Val?
I hit delete on your comment because the only name I use here on my site is my first name and I am sure you understand why. I never use his real name or my last name. I just call him Mr Pissed off Patricia or "Mr. Pop".
It is so good to hear from you again and what a great Thanksgiving surprise.
It is wonderful to connect with my friend again! We are both fine and have five beautiful kitties, on the lookout for 2 more, one for each day of the week! We had a quiet Thanksgiving this year and stayed home and it was relaxing. The weather was sunny but chilly, just right for Thanksgiving in NY.
i hopeyou had a wonderful holiday!
I have never been a recreational shopper. I don't get it. I stay away from the mall all the time, but especially this time of year. Yuck. A sea of people desperate to buy STUFF.
