Fred the Cat gets Frisky

I don’t know what it says about me, but cool mornings make me frisky.

In south Florida waking up to temperatures in the mid to upper fifties makes me turn into a freakin’ frisky, Fred the Cat. I do crazy things like run laps around the patio just as fast as I can. Don’t even think about trying to catch me either.

My favorite frisky thing to do is to quickly run up behind Pop, stand up on my back legs, wrap my front paws around her leg and pretend I’m going to bite her. Just as she feels my teeth I take off and run more laps. No matter how many times I do it, it gives her a start every time. Now that’s some feline fun. And yes, sometimes when I do it she starts talking about “ducks” again.

Pop is super frisky today and it has nothing to do with cooler weather, it has to do with Madam Karma. I’ll let her tell you about it Monday. It’s a good story because I’m in it.

Is it just me or does the cool weather make you feel a little frisky too?

Have a great weekend and watch that friskiness

Sincerely,
Fred the Cat (the cat who loves you guys)

Here in NY cold weather has a different meaning... I am not a bear but it makes me want to hibernate!

You are just too darn cute Fred, you really are.

Duck duck duck indeed! You little rascal!

Like franiam, cold weather makes want to hibernate. Warm weather is energizing. The difference is that 'round these parts, fiftyish temperatures are what we call a heat wave.

Dear Fred,

Maybe you should come live in Montreal. It was barely above freezing this morning. If you get frisker as it cools, I shudder to think of how you'd be when it's 20 below.

Frisky, eh? I sure hope you are fixed. Don't want that friskiness rubbing off on the lady cats in the neighborhood.

Oh yeah. We get frisky and race around the house like our butts are on fire. We run up cat trees and leap off and chase each other. We love cooler weather. Yup.

It's a toss up between frisky and funky. But maybe I'll just cure it by running up behind MathMan and biting his leg.

Fred, I was just saying on my blog today how the cool weather puts me in a good mood, and much more energitic. Want to go for a run? Or would that be a scamper?

Cool weather makes me want to get out and take a hike. I like a bit of briskness on a long walk.

Have a great weekend, hope it's cool and the friskiness goes on and on.

cool weather is...COOL! It does make me frisky, but it makes the cats around here huddle up under the rose bushes like little garden cat statues. And at night, they are wanting under the covers, for crying out loud.

Hey, Fred, you look like a handsome guy to me, even though you ARE a cat. I wouldn't mind frisking around with you a bit, if you didn't live on the other side of the world. Woof anyway, George the dog.

FtC you better watch your back man or PoP is going to put some catnip in your dinner and you're going to be channeling Amy Winehouse all weekend.

When you've been alone as long as I have, just about anything makes ya frisky!

Happy Friday, Fred!

That's very nice of you not to actually bite, Fred. My cat just goes ahead and bites.

E4E, would your cat's name, by any chance, be based on the princess warrior?

Fred...one of these days POP is going to accidentally step on your manicured paws if you aren't careful. That's not the way to get cosmic catnip either mister! Santa will be coming soon...if you want a treat stocking...you'd better think about being a good kitty and not scaring the daylights out of her. Silly!

Fred,

My dogs get frisky and very hungry when the weather cools down. They wake up in the morning wagging their tails and ready to run through the house like a couple of wild animals. Then they like to wait until I am settled on the couch with my coffee and dive bomb me. There is nothing more exciting than hot coffee and two 60 pound dogs that want to be in your lap to give you kisses.

I don't think I've ever seen a cat run before. Usually, I see them laid out sleeping on a chair or bed.

Cool weather is great...freezing weather sucks. I'm glad Fred is in Florida, a great place for a cat.

Hey Fred the Cat - Your mom sure likes to talk about ducks, doesn't she? Cooler weather makes me feel better, but cold weather makes me want to stay in bed.

Our dog loves the cooler weather. She gets frisky, for sure. I'm like Fran - I hibernate in the winter. I don't feel like doing anything or going anywhere in the winter!

hey fred, roscoe the dog here. if you came to my house and acted like a runnin' fool, i would chase you and chase you and come close enough to tree you! then i would bark my fool head off. but watch out - i'm a shetland sheepdog and we herd everything (just ask the 3 cats i live with, well, maybe not, they scare me!)
