Three Questions

Seriously, what is going on with President bush? What makes him do the things he does? What do you think his real goals might be?

1. I doubt he knows.

2. I doubt he knows.

3. I doubt he knows.

I doubt he has control of anything, and I doubt he realizes that too.

I've thought about the man's motivations and for the life of me, I think they are about what a teenage boy would have. As long as he's in charge, and able to flex the muscle from time to time, he's happy.

Remember Fredo in "The Godfather"? Bush reminds me of him: not too bright, but easily manipulated and filled with a sense of entitlement and an inflated notion of his own worth based solely on his pedigree.

Like Fredo, he couldn't run a taco stand if left to his own devices, and he vaguely senses that other people know this and resents the hell out of it. Consequently, he has something to prove, and there's nothing more dangerous than a fool with something to prove. That's what made Fredo a loose cannon who eventually ended up sleeping with the fishes, and that's what makes Bush such a feckless, self-important jackass. Luckily for Bush, there's not as much accountability in politics as there is in the mafia, or The Family might have taken him on a one-way fishing trip too.

What does he want? Mainly, to prove to Daddy that he's not the third-rate buffoon that he appears to be (and in fact is). He needs to make his mark, and if tens of thousands of people die and millions of lives are ruined in the process, it doesn't matter to him. I suspect he sees the world and all the people in it as a stage and cast of extras in his personal drama anyway.

What is going on with Bush? He is a symbol for his generation and everyone in it that thinks like he does. All that American highschool football hero-cowboy-richboy ethos. That kind of person you come back to the highschool reunion to find out what a failure they've become (no matter how monitarily sucessesful they've become).

He does the things he does because he's the ultimate symbol of entitlement. He has no goals but to be worshiped.

Bush is a tool for the real powers that be; no more, no less.

Call me a tin hatter, but the US is now a third world country. A third world country with purposely porous borders, an increasing inability to respond to disasters within and a police state mentality. The real question is Who is benefiting most from the wars, disasters and the Orwellian society that has emerged? As always follow the money, or is it just a coincidence that Cheney invests his wealth overseas? Nice when the coach bets against his own team, huh?

Well he is stark raving mad, and getting worse by the day. The push to get the torture ammendments done at all cost, and ASAP, is to cover not only his ass, but all the others that might have known or otherwise authorized the use of such acts.

The need to do so, is because they don't just want it done, they want it retroactive to cover them against war crimes that might come later. That is why he was so testy about it. He needs to make himself and others safe from the hammer that will come down sooner or later.

Who better to assist with the charade that is Bushco, than someone decended from the same genetics? When I call them the Bush crime family, I do so for a good reason.

Bush Relations:

Relations to Bush 1:

James Danforth Quayle is the 10th cousin once removed.

Richard Bruce Cheney is the 9th cousin of the wife.

Relations to Bush 2:

James Danforth Quayle is the 11th cousin.

Richard Bruce Cheney is the 9th cousin once removed.

Kind of creepy given the things they have been known to do after you see this.

I agree that Betty has really nailed it. This is also the typical alcoholic personality in feeling persecuted and misunderstood. Someone who doesn't realize they are causing all their own problems and who if deprived of one addiction (alcohol) will often substitute another (in his case self aggrandizing war).

First off, Bush is a Rube. He is the ego centric patsy of far more devious, intelligent and manipulative people who follow the ideals of PNAC. Bush is perfect for the job too, he is after all a malignant narcissist. His narrow view of the world and his inability to understand the problems and pain of others makes it easy for him to plow ahead with whatever plan is presented to him. Plans which he inevitably believe were his own.

He is a symbol for his generation ...

With all due respect, being a boomer, I am sad to see that generalization, :( (imho, it's a Rovian talking point) and wish that progressives of good will would stop using it - it's being disseminated to discredit all the boomers and fragment the growing majority of us who want our government back. We need to stand as a united front against this man who would be a puppet king rather than go down in history as the worst president ever.

He seems interested in two things: baseball and the Rapture. I'll bet he loved 'Field of Dreams'. Instead of a corn field, Bush has the Middle east. And instead of 'build it and they will come', Bush thinks 'impose democracy, and they will salivate'. Unfortunately, we're in the bottom of the ninth, we're losing, there are two outs with no one on base, and Bush is at the plate.

I'm of the mind that he is acting on a mix of faith and a simplistic belief in human nature - yearning to be free and all that jazz - and tries to emulate John Wayne because he always thought he was a tough, smart guy (instead of an actor playing a tough smart guy). Throw a little Reagan envy in there, and voila, you get Dumya. In truth, I believe he's just a delusional neocon who doesn't understand that all actions have consequences, and everyone is wrong sometime and everyone is right sometime. His rich kid upbringing isshowing through - he's making a huge mess and plans to leave the mess for the next admin to clean up.

Bush's primary motivation is to remember what he just read on the teleprompter.

He's an empty suit for a whole conglomeration of weird interest groups and puppet masters.

Don't be deceived. Think of that scene from the first Men in Black movie when they pull on the alien's ear and the skull opens up to reveal a tiny alien in there working a bunch of levers at a console.

Bush is exactly like that.

Off the top of my hack psychologist head:

There are two main forces at work. One is Bush's lifelong desire to upstage Daddy in one endeavor or another -- attempts that ended in failure again and again until a couple years ago (see below). The other is the resentment fueled by his repeated failures and compounded by the fact that Daddy or Daddy's friends had to repeatedly bail Bush out of the messes he created. Which, of course made Bush want to upstage Daddy all the more, which lead to the next "fail and bail" humiliation, and so on til we puke from the dizziness.

Bush finally succeeded when he did one thing Daddy failed to do: Win a second term, even if it (and the first) were won under questionable circumstances. He broke the cycle, but behavioral habits are damn near impossible to break -- especially for a 60-year-old poster boy for arrested development. Worse, his victory, with a little more than two years left to his term, has already proven to be a Pyrrhic one.

And this time Daddy can't fix the problem.

{/hack psychologist off}...

I think he's sincere in his goals, for the most part, he just approaches them in a simplistic way, and his faith has been a big problem in getting him to see reason. In the meantime, the Neo-Cons that he's surrounded himself with have their own agenda and are using him to push it.

On the other hand, he could be just as cynical as the rest of them. The reason I tend-sometimes-to give himthe benefit of the doubt, is I figure any politician that's foolish enough to openly discuss messing with Social Security like he has done, must be somewhat sincere, although certainly wrong headed.

I think he represents the whole dysfunctional illness of government not for the people but in spite of the people.

Hi is a puppet. This in no way absolves him of any guilt (or the American people). His aims are articulated in the Manifesto, Project for The New American Century.

President(the elected kind) Hugo Chavez nailed it when he gave his fine speech today at the UN.
(to quote the interpreter)
"Bush speaks as if he owns the world"...

It is largely irrelevant who sits in the oval office. Millions have been slaughtered by the Secret and Public Governments of the United States.

I think it is the listed questions that need to be aimed at the Blood Stained Hands of the American People.

Peace.

GWB is a spoiled little rich Frat boy who, as stated previously, seems to be dead-set on upstaging Daddy.

Daddy bought him anything/everything he ever wanted, and the shrub has never had to pay for anything (including taking the consequences of your actions or lack thereof) his entire life.

Spending 7 billion + a day on a war? Who pays? Well, taxes! Taxes. Taxes that he's cut for his rich friends so they'll stay friends with him - you know how it goes - you watch out for your friends, ya know?

This party-boy has never outgrown it. I'm sure he saw the Presidency as just another little stepping-stone in his career as a spoiled rich-boy nouveau-riche dilettant. And like a good little Frat-boy, he won't listen to anyone but his own Frat Brothers.

I'm told by some well-placed individuals that when Bush first got his bit of "presidential training" on how the entire nuclear weapons authorization protocols worked, his eyes lit up with glee, like a little boy with a new toy.

6 more weeks....

He does what he does to line his pockets. To line the pockets of his friends. To turn back the clock to an Eisenhower-ish era, where the white man ruled, women were barefoot, pregnant and in the kitchen, and blacks and mexicans knew their place... quiet and fearful.
His goals? Hey, he's a closet homosexual former cheerleader and he's trying to forget it. His psychotic nature tells him that if he acts tough, he is tough and people should fear him.
He is loony. He's a loon. He always has been and always will be.

I pretty much approve this message.

1. I think he has the problem of a lot of Born Agains that I have met--they traded one addition for another. Rather than drug and drink, they turn their lives over to "Jesus" and therefore anything they do is directly done by God (and they are no longer responsible).

2. See #1.

3. I believe his goals are tainted by his religious beliefs--he called the Iraq War a "crusade" once, and I think he believes that. I also doubt that he is a strong person who can think for himself. Those whispering in his ears stoke his ego and lead him in what they see as the "right path."

He wants to put alot of stuff in his presidential library. He hasn't got much to go in there now...so that's why he's doing all the photo ops he can, and stomping around with the speeches no one wants to hear. i think he really feels he has accomplished many things. Mostly he has accomplished deluding himself in more ways than we can count.
