Watching it all over again

Yesterday I watched the rerun of the NBC’s coverage of the events of the morning of September 11, 2001. It was very interesting to view what was then live coverage with a more objective and clearer mind than most of us had that day. The perspective was so different.

I noticed that the very children, who bush didn’t want to upset when he was told of the events that morning, were used as a backdrop for him when he made his first statements to the nation. Even when our country was so upset and confused, someone thought to put those children behind him for whatever reason.

Another detail which I had missed that day, five years ago, was a report that morning by Andrea Mitchell that stated that the FBI’s first responders in their terrorists division were all out on the west coast at a pre-planned drill. She also said that at that time they were so frustrated because due to all planes being grounded, they had no way to get back to NYC. Don’t know when or how they got back. What luck for the terrorist, huh?

Because my computer is still having trouble with its email files, it must go back to the tube doctor this morning. He can keep it for a couple of days since Mr. Pop and I are leaving today for Ft Lauderdale for the duration of this week. Happily, Mr. Pop will be taking his laptop with him so hopefully I can continue to post daily. I may not post as early each day as I usually do since Murphy won’t be there to wake me before the crack of dawn.

While Mr. Pop is attending meetings daily I will explore the area and do the wonderful stuff you get to do when you aren’t at home. Things like shop, not worry about what’s for dinner, not make the bed and not be responsible for feeding the pets or much of anything else.

If for some reason I can’t post from down there, I will be posting again after we return and my computer comes home next weekend.

Anything you would like me to bring back to you? Let’s just say the sky is the limit, what would you like?

(Hopefully I can bring you some fun pictures too)

OOH POP, what an offer! If you happen across a specialty shop, I would so like to have some Impeachment-On-A-Stick. May be hard to find though.

Kathrine Harris' and Jeb Bush's head on a platter will be just fine, thank you very much!!

If your sick puter doesn't have a virus filter on it, may I recommend AVG. (Google it, easily found) It's free, it's more effective than the latest Norton ripoff release. I know. It replaced Norton on my machine - because Norton had my machine literally tied on knots: all kinds of boot up problems, application problems, the list goes on forever. I got rid of that piece of crap, but AVG on, and it again ran like a raped ape!:) Honesty requires however, I disclose that I have never seen the proverbial raped ape run!:P

PoP,
The cynicism of Bushco is staggering - the only parallel I can see between the present time and WWII, with which Bushco loves to draw his false analogies, is between that sick bastard Carl Rove's propoganda machine and Hitler's. Both play directly to the public's fears and their need for vindication for the humiliation of the Fatherland.

PoP, have a great trip - I know how much you enjoy your trips with the hubby. Don't suppose your husband has ever run across a marine biologist named Jim Beets? He's an old friend and at least at one time was down in your neck of the woods.

Good point about the staging of Bush's first address to the nation on 9/11. Everything about that day seems staged, looking back on it.

Enjoy the trip! I'd appreciate it greatly if you would enjoy a martini by the shore for me!

I didn't watch Bush (never do - he comes on, the channel changes) but I'd heard he was going to use the kids.

I did watch part of the CNN timeline even though I swore I wouldn't turn the t.v. on. Boycotted ABC and Path to 9/11 and plan to write to the FEC today.

There isn't anything the GOPers do that isn't propaganda. Sometimes the image speaks better than the speaker and we sure do know what a poor speaker Bush is. Ft. Lauderdale! I'm jealous as that's my old haunting grounds - about 7 years. Hope it's a great trip.

Get it fixed soon my friend.

Regarding the counter-terrorism crew- Don’t know when or how they got back. What luck for the terrorist, huh? By "terrorist" if you mean "Bush", then yes, I'd say he was rather lucky they weren't there...the other terrorists were all dead.

Isn't it amazing what we bought and took at face value that first week? We were willing to accept anything because we were in too great a state of shock to be objective and know better. Isn't it amazing what's changed in only 5 years?

Fred, Hah! Rush Limbaugh called me and asked me to tell PoP to bring him a bottle of Viagra for his party with the ABC boys! I am not sure if you are supposed to mix vicodin with Viagra. No wonder he went to two different sources. That is called pill-popping blogger-shopping and it may be a crime.
