Day One in Paradice

You guys should see this hotel, very nice! What an icredible view of the ocean.

I already have some pictures to bring back. Also, I practiced drinking a martini on the beach last night. I'll practice again tonight and keep going till I get it right.

I watched Tucker try to dance last night. Hope he hasn't quit his day job. I was embarassed for him. What was he thinking when he agreed to do that show?

Tuckers putting on the pounds, eh!? Think it's all the comfort food he's been eating while watching the Bush Administration implode?

PoP,
Re:Tucker- any publicity is good publicity - that has to be the explanation because it sure couldn't be his dancing.

Practice makes perfect, so practice, practice, practice...

Oh, I can't stand it! Where are you staying - well I guess you'll tell us when you get back. As I said, that's my old area. I am soooo envious.

my philosophy is that everyone knows how to dance

but not everyone can appreciate the dances that we all do - grin

Umm, I don't do fancy rooms, I try to keep starving people alive. Is that wrong?

Dance as if you are one.

PoP,

After a 38 year layoff, i'm taking guitar lessons again. I find that the more I practice the better I play. So how's the martini practice going? Get out there and practice some more.

Glad to hear you're having a great time, Pop! Enjoy that view from your hotel room. I'll think of you tonight when I practice on a cajun martini. =)

pogo, you would be amazed at how many people who claim to be serious about learning guitar haven't managed to grasp that simple fact. feel free to visit my homepage. i will be happy to give any tips, tricks or answer any questions you might want to ask. quite frankly some of my friends have told me i don't write nearly enough about playing. your questions might turn in to some decent posts.

Ah yes, the almighty Martini! My good friend, R. (70 some years young) says he pours the gin, calls his friend in Australia, has him LOOK across his room to the bottle of Vermouth on the wall, and that's enough Vermouth for him.

I struggle with martinis made of Vodka... just doesn't seem right to me somehow.

Turtle Guy, you are right about the vodka. I love your friend's Martini story. He would love my mother-in-law. We took my mother-in-law to dinner for her 91st birthday. She ordered a martini. The waiter asked, "gin or vodka?" She looked at him as if he had grown a second head and then she literally spat out, "Gin of course!" She used the same tone of voice she uses in sentences that she ends with "you fool!" We were so proud of her but we were glad she left the "you fool" part out!
