America’s Worst Imagined Nightmare

These days when the bush administration’s form of patriotism has been exposed for its torturous side, there are much more important things on American minds. The primary one being two liberal gay married atheist Mexicans burning the American flag.

Meanwhile, two soldiers were killed in Iraq Monday and no one knows how many people starved to death in Darfur.

It's all about the Bush Administration's priorities. Sure, they're misplaced, but they plan on winning the war and solving the Darfur problem just as soon as they deal with those two flag-burning married gay liberal atheist Mexicans.

There, that's the idea. There is a freakin' war going on people!

I guess I just don't realize why anyone could care weather two people of the same sex want to be together for the rest of their lives, but they ignore the killing and devastation in a far away land.

Thanks PoP

I was thinking of applying for a job at the White House. Apparently, the only thing you have to do to keep your job there is not get criminally indicted. I guess I also can't burn any flags or marry anyone of my own gender during that time.

I read something about this at the Bastardofaandc.blogspot.com and I just figured he was making it up.

The bit is called "Worst Case Scenario"

http://bastardofaandc.blogspot.com/2006/06/worst-case-scenario.html

Did that really happen? Been a little out of touch lately.

Pop, Joke too long for Crawford list even in short form below:

There's a Marine biologist who cares for some very long lived porpoises. Each month he has to travel up to oregon to pick up a supply of the sea birds that are their principal diet. This gives him a chance to visit a friend who happens to be a state ranger.

On the most recent trip, the ranger asks him to keep an eye out for a cougar that has been wandering outside of the state park.

The biologist continues his trip, picks up the birds and after leaving Oregon as luck would have it strikes the big cat as it crossed the road.

He was immediately arrested for violating the Mann act..................................................................

He was transporting gulls across state lions for immortal porpoises.

You may groan now.

I will say this, because I'm growing more skeptical each day.

Its one thing for politicians to be pushing anti gay marriage shit, flag burning legislation, whatever.

It's another thing entirely to observe that those strategies captivate Americans, and a certain group of Americans will rally behind those battle cries.

So you can’t blame Republicans for doing this any more than you can blame a dog from stealing food from the table. They do it because there is an opportunity to get what they want, and that opportunity would not be there if the homophobic assholes living next door to you, or that jerkoff in the cubicle behind you at work, or your one dickhead friend with the “try and burn this one!”sticker on the back of his Chevy pickup weren’t whipped into a frenzy ever time this gets introduced in Congress.

The Republicans and conservative Democrats aren’t necessarily to blame – the fucking morons I just mentioned above are.

The only thing more shocking being: Two conservative, gay, married, Mexican members of the Log-cabin Republicans burning the American flag.

I'm taking a trip to San Francisco this weekend. Has that been outlawed yet? Will Homeland Security be on the look out for gay flag-burners?

I agree with Jeremy--if people stood up and told the Bush Administration and Congress "enough--we have better things to worry about" and actually showed up to vote (our government is elected by a fraction of those qualified to vote), maybe things would change. As long as people are more interested in who wins American Idol, whining about the price of gas, etc., nothing will change. I guess most people find that thinking is too hard.

i personally think our government should be concentrating on the steroids in baseball brou ha ha. i think we should spend way more time and way more money on it.

who cares about people still missing from katrina, the impending hurricane season, our men and women dying and being horribly maimed in unjust wars based on LIES, our health care system, our educational system, and on and on.

i say take your vaginas outta your momma's handbags and GET TO THE BOTTOM OF A COUPLE OF GROWN MEN DECIDING TO DO STEROIDS. oh and when they are done with that, i say concentrate on women who show their nipple on television for a nanosecond. those are TWO issues that should and MUST concern our national
