Two Assassination Attempts, Two Crimes Against Humanity?

Saddam is on trial now for crimes against humanity. He is accused of killing one hundred forty-eight Iraqi people in Dujail as a result of a botched assassination attempt on his life.

During his buildup to the war george bush mentioned, as one of the reasons to invade Iraq, that Saddam had attempted to take his father’s life. Ummm, let’s see, how many Iraqis and others have been killed as a result of that botched assassination attempt?

Ahh And herein lies the heart of the mess:

Who's life is more valuable?

I can't think of a single human being who should be allowed to decide that. And yet,we have WAY too many totally insane people making those decisions for the entire planet. And I'm not referring exclusively to human life here either.

One of the never spoken about qualifications for President is the willingness to be a mass murderer. Whether it is Roosevelt's planes over Dresden, Truman's okay to deploy Fat Man and Little Boy, or Johnson's attacks on the people of Viet Nam.

When leaders make war, innocent people die. The question then becomes, were these actions justified either in defense of a country or to punish a dangerous leader in order to save lives.

The invasion of Iraq was not justified as a danger to this country. How many innocent people have died to remove an evil man like Saddam? Bush fails on both criteria.

What sad pathetic people live in america now...i will only laugh at them when their children are beheaded before their own eyes (as they piss themselve in fear waiting their turn) by the terrorist who won't have a drop of sympathy for innocents!

Thanks Patricia

I wish more people in this country could look in the mirror and see what the United States is doing. We are no different than other tyrants in the world.

Will bind, toruture, and kill.

About the only difference between Saddam and Bush is that Saddam didn't claim to be, nor was he that religious. Saddam ran a secular state while Bush keeps pushing us more and more toward theocracy.

Unfortunatly, criminality is a realitive thing. We have fought the strengthening of the World Court since it's inception.

"kinda mindset

but hell yeah ... you're right on this one ... was gonna post on the general subject at hand .... might still do so ...
