Feingold Takes it to the President

Senator Russ Feingold on today’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos announced that he intends to introduce a bill to Congress seeking censure of president bush for his program of illegal wiretaps. He contends that bush’s illegal activities ignore the Constitution’s separation of powers. No president can make law or ignore existing law, no matter what the circumstances.

It's a start....

What really needs to happen is Karl Rove, Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, and Condi need to be tarred, feathered, and run out of the White House on a rail.

If this were 1814, that's what would have happened already.

Feingold is, unfortunately, one of a kind in the Democratic party, and unless we are willing to push for new leadership, it will stay that way and we (the Democrats) will continue to lose elections.

(BTW Patricia, we so need to do a little link exchanging.)

This has nothing to do with Feingold's call for censure (although he's abso-friggin-lutely right), but thank you for stopping by my place earlier. At the risk of appearing a male Harriet Miers to your Dubya -- and please don't vomit at that thought -- a compliment from a person of your talent and stature means a lot.

Umm, any chance of getting a plain old black coffee? Some of us kinda overdid the alcohol thing in the past...

We need talking points and then start repeating them verbatum.

Sheila, here you go. Unfortunately these are not very positive and not an "agenda". They're a reaction to the simplicty of conservative talking points that eschew substance in favor of spin. Nonetheless it's a tactic Democrats would do well to learn.
