I’ve Been Thinking

Yeah, I know if I do too much thinking I could break something in my head, but sometimes I do it anyway.

This is what seems strange to me. Republicans, for the most part, claim to be the party of religion. They talk about it all the time, yet when someone is down and out, republicans fall back on the old saying of pull yourself up by your bootstraps. Democrats on the other paw, are the party of freedom of and from religion, yet they are the first ones to hold out a helping hand to someone in need. Kinda funny how that works, isn’t it?

Have a grand weekend and if you need a good laugh, watch that Bobby Jindal speech one more time.

Hug your sweetie for me.

Sincerely,
Fred the Cat (The cat who loves you guys!)

ah- fred- you cracked the case right there :) religion- any not just christian- is about control, power structure, did i mention control? freedom to be who you really are- warts and all- opens you up to be kind and compassionate BECAUSE YOU WANT TO- not because you are told to. that's not saying that there aren't religious folks out there who truly are compassionate- no strings attached- i just haven't run into many personally.

Fred, Why is it that you can see this, but most people can not? As I explained to my 20 year old son 2 days ago, the liberals believe in "live and let live" we try very hard not to judge others for their choices or their lifestyles or their lives. Frankly, because none of us want to be judged. It seems to be that the Repubs are nothing BUT judgers. If you aren't EXACTLY like them, you are wrong.

I wish most people were as smart as you are.

Don't try to understand humans. Have some more catnip. You'll feel much better.

Fred, you might enjoy reading some of the work of Al Franken, who came up with Supply Side Jesus, the god the Republicans worship.

And eventually, he's going to be the senator from Minnesota. Won't that be nice?

hey, Fred--
religion is all about going to church, temple, whatever and sitting quietly while someone talks. that's all.

compassion is something else again.

you know what I thought up yesterday?
Republicans are all for small gov't, right? it's just supposed to stay out of the way.

So, what are all those guys doing in DC governing???

it seems to me that if you're a republican and in the gov't-- you're a hypocrite, pure and simple-- before you even open your mouth.

you're my kinda cat, Fred.

Fred, I hear ya, buddy, and I concur. And what's up with that Bobby Jindal? He not 'be da man' as that stupid congresswoman sez about the new GOP chairman....

Maybe it's not about religion, but about who people are. I always say they're a Rorschach test. What humans get out of them has more to do with who they are than the religions themselves.

Anyway, hope it was a good weekend, little buddy. Don't take any nonsense from the dust mop.
