World War III?

Bush, speaking about Iran at yesterday’s press conference.

"So I've told people that, if you're interested in avoiding World War III, it seems like you ought to be interested in preventing them from having the knowledge necessary to make a nuclear weapon," said Bush.”

Who are these “people” he said this to and what did they say?

Why in the world, while we are still up to our asses in war in Iraq and Afghanistan, would he even mention WW III? Who would start World War III?
Has he lost what little mind he had? Doesn’t he realize that to many this may sound like a threat? Maybe it is.

It was as bad as his "Bring It On" threat all those years ago...I think he is nuts..I really do..he chuckled and smirked when he said it....scary....and only within hours of the Dalai Lama Award ceremony...the irony was so disturbing and how he treated the reporters from his Self Proclaimed "Bully Pulpit" ( well he did get that right....about the Bully)

The ultimate Bush fantasy is to have World War III.

The idiot can't comprehend it will destroy the economy, as well as his buddies financial empires.

The most frightening thing I can think of is a bunch of people running this country (or any other country) who believe they can win a nuclear war.

What a ball gargler. Once again, who in hell do WE think we are dictating who can and can't have nukes. Israel has a shitload of them, Pakistan has them, and so does India. All with our support.
NOBODY should have them, and we have more than enough to destroy the friggin planet.
No hypocrisy here, move along.

He and the rest of this insane lot have a childish need to be part of their own Greatest Generation so then they can be "judged right" by history.

And it wouldn't surprise me if this is just a reprise of 2004 - a vote for Kerry is a vote for a mushroom cloud over your house. Sure, the majority of the country hates Bush, but appealing to emotions works, and given the fact that Rudy! will have to run on his tough-guy shtick to appeal to the wingnut base, this can only help him win the nomination. I love Republican politics.

He has to know that only a few mouth-breathers in the country still think he can walk and chew gum at the same time. That is making him desperate and when you corner someone with his grasp of reality(think small stupid animal) then you have the formula for insane and unpredictable behavior. Very frightening.

I'm with Nick - - I can't figure out how ya'll got rid of a whole bunch of other presidents (in various ways) who were relatively harmless and sometimes even good and then you not only let this guy carry on with all his wacky shenanigans, but you re-elect him for another term of wacky shenanigans. And, I'm afraid that at the next election his another one of his Republican cronies will take his place. Which means, it's not just him that's the problem, but a whole bagful of your fellow citizens as well!

Of course it was a threat. I'm sure God told him (!) he'll be bringing on the Rapture and thus ensuring his place in heaven where he'll--what?--snort all the coke and drink all the booze he wants, maybe? And Crazy Eyes can run over anyone she wants to (oh wait, she's already doing that here).

I think it's almost funny how he keeps trying to "avoid" WW3 yet at the same time, thrreatening to invade Iran - causing WW3... who's the flip-flopper now, eh?

As for impeachment, I agree, they all need to just get out and get into Gitmo - reap what they sow and all... It'll never happen. Only a sex scandal can cause that..

What I don't understand is why he hasn't been impeached. He has committed impeachable offenses, but the Democratic Congress just sits on their butts acting like it would be such a problem to take action. What are they waiting for? World War III to begin? Bush said he vetoes bills to feel relevant. What if his maniacal desire to feel relevant means he needs to drop a nuclear bomb? That's a whole lot of relevancy.

i hope everyone kidding about this (me included) sees where this is headed. and that if we do indeed invade iran... the "game" could be over. i like joking around as much as the next blogger, but i admit to absolute terror, when it comes to more war. especially if our actions pull russia or china into the growing quagmire. olberman was right to question bush's overall sanity. the chimp has completely lost whatever there was of his mind. it's beyond scary.

honestly, i'm ready to fight in the streets, if it means stopping this ididotic madman from destroying us all up. anyone else? or are we going to remain silent germans?

The other evening friends of ours showed us some clips of the actor who created Borat doing another one of his personas, Ali G. It's on Youtube, I think. He was interviewing people like Brent Skowcroft and some other warmonger. He asked them something about nuclear weapons, and these old mean guys sanguinely replied something to the effect of, oh, sure, gotta keep that option open, blah blah blah, as if utterly ignorant of the fact that just ONE nuclear explosion could well fuck up the entire planet.
These people are psychotic, and living in some false afterglow of WWII, rah rah USA - it's such a living nightmare.
I didn't vote for them, and I wish there were some tactical, surgical way to remove them. Now.

I called Pelosi after his smirking rant and bringing up World War III.

I left a short version of in on suzie-q's blog which I link to on my site.

It was under the story posted http://suzieqq.wordpress.com/2007/10/17/factions-threaten-to-destabilize-the-gop-in-2008/#comments
and I also have said many times that I don't believe that there will be elections in 2008.

Well I found this on another site I link to and felt I needed to leave it on most of the sites I link to.

You will hear a Democrat saying what I have been saying but in reference to another topic.

Here's the reason the Democrats won't impeach Der Fuhrer Bush or the Dark Lord Dick {Heinrich Himmler} Cheney.

Watch this short YouTube of Ralph Nader explaining why.

No Impeachment.

We really don't have an opposition party.

God Bless.

Problem with that World War III comment is that it way-too-closely echoes the "we don't want a mushroom cloud" that Bush, Rice, Cheney, Rumsfeld, et. al., all parroted as the party-line 'smoking gun' reason for invading Iraq. I know how that's working out for ya'll...

October 19, 2007 7:02 AM

Well, let's remember that "in cases of national emergency," all elections in this country can be stopped/postponed, and the ruling party stays in power. How's THAT for a reason to start WWIII? Then it's Emperor-for-life Chimpy (at least until Darth BigDick bumps him off and takes over). Then the first galactic empire is launched, along with the nukes.

How much time do you spend on a street with a protest sign? Your blog is the same as talking to a wall you know.

Any chance that you could get out there and make a real difference? Just asking.

I guess that if not enough Americans are quaking in their boots anymore at the mention of "9-11" and "terror", then it's time to start scaring the crap out of us all by raising the specter of World War III. America is no longer afraid enough for the neotards, so now it's time for the WWIII talk to start in earnest.
