Freday without Fred the Cat

Since Fred the Cat spent the last few days in the vets office being boarded, he’s not in the mood to write. He’s more in the mood to be miffed. So I have to do the weekend post.

Thank you all for your kind birthday wishes. Your wishes must have been magic because I had a wonderful birthday and trip. Ah, just lazing around with no responsibilities except to decide where to go for meals. A couple of days like that are good for the soul.

I came home to find that Imus was determined to have verbally jumped his last shark. The Duke team was found innocent of all charges. Anna Nicole’s baby now has a legal father. And oh yeah, the troops will be doing longer tours and have less time at home between tours. That was the order of the news as I heard it. Some things just never change.

When did the military get permission to keep changing the rules right in the middle of the game/war?

***
Have a great weekend and Fred the Cat and I will see you next week at our regular scheduled times.

Our cat used to come in; slouch over to a corner and sit there with his back to everyone. That was his way of telling us he was miffed. I don't suppose this would work with Bush and gang.

Pat, pat for Freddy.

glad to hear your birthday trip was a success! Stella helped me celebrate your BD. She watched me drink a martini in your honor. She thumped her tail happily every time I invoked your name.

Sounds like Fred needs a few days of coddling and treat-dispensing.

Poor Fred. I'd be in a "mood" too if I was wisked away from my comfortable home to be boarded.

The Chimp in charge is punishing the troops for the failing to make his unorganized Iraq fiasco work. The violence is now reaching inside the secure zone.

A big building is on fire, and we are trying to use squirt guns to put it out, the fire is getting worse, so we use more squirt guns and manage to put a out the fire in a little corner of the building, but the rest of the building is still burning out of control, and the corner where we put out the fire will soon reignite from the fire that still burning. We need a new strategy, or we need to just let the fire burn itself out, but the little bit we are doing is not going to ever be successful.

Getting away for a few days can work wonders. Nope, nothing much changes.

I've read that Bill Moyers is doing a documentary on PBS April 25th about how our media has let us down. Here's a blurb about it:
Bill Moyers has put together an amazing 90-minute video documenting the lies that the Bush administration told to sell the Iraq war to the American public, with a special focus on how the media led the charge. I've watched an advance copy and read a transcript, and the most important thing I can say about it is: Watch PBS from 9:00 to 10:30 PM on Wednesday, April 25. Spending that 90 minutes will actually save you time because you'll never watch television news again - not even on PBS, which comes in for its own share of criticism.

We've turned on MSNBC Hardball everyday this week to see if they were covering the White House email scandal. Each day, for the entire hour, they were talking about Imus. Our country is going to hell, and all these people can talk about is a weird racist in a cowboy hat.

You mean something else happended besides the Anna Nicole DNA results?

I think Nicole's DNA results were a sure victory.

Iraq??? Not as much.

Isn't that US policy:
Fight wars against a much weaker enemy?

The department of Defence was all over that DNA test, it was an honorable battle between man and science. Minimal collateral damage.

Welcome back POP. As for Fred, clearly he didn't consider your birthday as a VACATION. He didn't even send any postcards.

Fred, the military is allowed to change the rules as long as the Murkans permit them to do so.

Fred will just have to take some time off somewhere and think it all out. As soon as he realized who has the cat goodies...he'll be front and center in no time. Glad to hear your time was wonderful...you deserve it.

Poor Fred! you should have come to NJ to play with my doggie-snickerdoodle! you would have had a ball chasing one another and snickers getting scratched by you on the nose!

I don't blame Fred The Cat from being a little upset. He wishes he could have gone with you. Luckily for him, you realize what dangers there are for cats, to travel and placed him in safety until you returned. It sounds like you had a fine time.
