When Even a Pork Chop Won’t Work

What do you do when your own dogs will no longer play with you even though you have a pork chop hanging around your neck?

''A 'military victory' in the sense of total control over the whole territory, imposed on the entire population is not possible,'' Kissinger told The Associated Press in Tokyo, where he received an honorary degree from Waseda University.”
Quote source

So while a stubborn brat stomps his foot and demands unconditional money for his war, Kissinger and many others says it can’t be won militarily. If we can’t win with the military, why are they there? Even with the temptation of a pork chop, the dogs of war seem to have lost their taste for this particular conflict that bush so ineptly created. No one seems to want to play anymore.

Ironic, isn't it?

And then, over the weekend, someone like Obama makes a remark about not wanting to pull money from the troops.

When is enough, enough? Surely when there's no longer any money to be made from this debacle. ; (

Evidently, no one on the Hill can see past support for getting re-elected.

Very sad indeed! ; (

People quickly tire of playing with petulant silver-spoon types.

Alas, the only mechanisms I see at work recently are the knee-jerk reactions of politicos trying to be re-elected. That and the voices of 30 percenter zealots. Ugghh...

Why is this stubborn brat still our president?

Fail once, lesson
fail twice, lesson confirmed
fail three times, can't learn
fail all the time, stubborn idiot

Impeach and Remove this criminal.

Rationality has been long absent from this debate; Dubya has a talent for ignoring others advice. He's like the stereotypical male who won't stop and ask for directions, no matter how lost he may be

The rational have known since we invaded with a quarter of the force needed that we would not win this thing. Nothing has changed except that the numbers of people that think we can win can now be counted on two hands.

I don't think that the Kissinger type really thinks things out. Those who are turning against the brat boy's war, know that a strong majority of Americans know that it is a money scam. Those fake wise men don't want to be associated with the criminals now that they are known-criminals.

The irony I see in this is that Dumya thinks we're in this to win against the terrorists, but they have alredy won against us. Because of them (and the Swiftboat Liars),we have been saddled with Bushco and Cheney, Inc. for eight years; they have, with the help of theinsurgents in Iraq, killed over 6,000 Americans; and they are showing the world that a majority in Congress isn't enough to stop or even impart any sanity into a clearly psychotic administration. Good Grief.

Great analogy. Kissinger was advising Bush to stick it out, now like Matthew Dowd and the other war profiteers, he decides the war is hopeless.

No thinking dog would give their porkchops a second thought.

The dog would be better off with Alpo.

I agree, great analogy. But what else would you expect from the decider, when the only thing in his whole life, that he has had success with is Failure!

There was a window of opportunity whereby the majority of Iraqis may have been able to be convinced that the invasion of Iraq was going to be for the betterment of their society. (This is my perception regardless of my position on the invasion.)

That window of opportunity appears to have been lost. The evidence that it has been lost is in the daily killing of muslims by muslims, allies by muslims and muslims by allies.

Attempts to rectify this slide through strobger military means is probably seen by some muslims as evidence that their worst fears have been realized.

In other words, mixed messages were given from the beginning. It is difficult to convince a people that they are not only dangerous enemies of the world, but that also that the intervention was for their benefit.

The messages, I think, were too conflicting. Paraphrased like this - "You are dangerous and we have to overthrow you to save you," is just too contradictory for many people.

This entire debacle was undertaken just so we could get our hands on their oil. That's why every rationale for war always rang false, because they were. I have always hated Henry Kissinger even when he says something that is reasonable.

Could it be that the brat knows he is has really screwed the pooch in Iraq and is just playing for time until he can run off to Crawford when his term ends and dump this mess, along with the defeat on the next president?

You know you are in trouble as a president when your team shrinks...just wait for Gonzales to fall...ask yourself who would be stupid enough to sign up as W's next AG? That would be a foolish asssignment to accept.
