Friday with Fred the Cat

I may be just a cat, but I’m listening to what’s going on. Some ask if Barak Obama is black enough. Some might ask if he’s white enough. Take a look at me folks. Look at my colors. Am I black enough? Am I white enough? See, how foolish those two questions sound?

Speaking as a black and white cat, I must say that whether I’m a good cat or a bad cat has nothing to do with my colors. It’s what’s inside my head and my heart that makes me who I am. It’s my experiences and the life I have led up to this point that give me the thoughts that I have. It’s the way I have been treated and the emotions I have experienced that shape who I am. I’m not too black and I’m not too white, I’m black and white.

Sometimes some of you human beings worry me with the way you break things down. Not everyone or every thing can be broken down into black or white. Some of us are black and some of us are white and some of us are black and white. But as they say, it’s all good.

Have a great weekend and don’t overdo it with the Cosmic catnip.

Fred old boy...you are just too wise for your years. We need you in the administration. Do you think the POP'S would let you go and work things out with Barney? I think America stands a better chance with the two of you flip flopping on the floor over issues at hand. Consider it please? My dog Lulah could be your Secretary of State...she knows how to sweet talk in many languages.

Darling Fred, I could care less if he's sky blue pink, I've watched him on the "Dumont" over the last few years, he's amazing and could possibly be the savior of our country. Even if he doesn't make President in 08, I'll bet my last pair of pre-war nylons that he'll make VP, with either Hilary or Edwards as Pres. Any way you slice it, the next 8 years will be wonderfull, you know they'll bring our Boys and Girls home, that alone will get my vote!

Fred, are you black with white spots or white with black spots? We MUST know!! Black is good, and white is good, and gray is good too. OK, ginger colored is fine too.

Fred, that might be the smartest thing I have heard since Barack declared his candidacy!

Can't promise to go easy on the catnip, though. I've worked hard all week and I've earned the right to let my hair down!

Fred, you're a handsome tomcat, all right, even without the swimsuit, and your wisdom must come from top-drawer teachers. I'm sure you listen and observe more than you speak.

However, as you expand your reach, get ready for the tough questions from the corpoRAT media that are sure to tail you:

* The public seems intrigued by the b&w - but is that a b&w or a color photo? And was it taken in Hawaii, Africa, or a questionable school in Singapore?

* "Some" (we're still looking for "some" for confirmation) are questioning whether your black is black enough - and whether the white is to white. What is your response?

* When you cross Penn. Ave in front of Cheney's limo, is that a harbinger of good luck or bad luck for him? (Don't you love them big Harvard words like "harbinger"?)

* And - keeping it current - just how well did you know Ann Nicole?

Fred, you are so smart. I wish more people had thoughts as deep as yours. When I hear what some people are saying about Barack Obama, I think humans are more ignorant than I've ever imagined.

An interesting observation I have used myself lately to point out the racism of our culture, which we vehemently deny. I wonder if he'd be considered white if his father was white and his mother black, or does he have to be less than 1/8 black to be considered white? In the end, who gives a shit? He's a bright guy with good ideas.

Your probably right Fred, but I think Clinton, Biden, Edwards, Romney, McCain, Gulianni, and all the rest; are to white to be President.

They don't reflect or represent the multi-color make-up of the country. Two hundred-thirty years of white guys. Call me biased, we have had enough white guys.

So I was going to vote for Obama, but now I'm told I should not, because he's a smoker. What's an American Indian supposed to do Fred?

I'm mostly gray, as you can see. Bits of white here and there. Black pupils -- surrounded by red. PoP might suspect otherwise, but the red in my eyes is wholly genetic. I've looked into tinted contacts, but they don't make them this small.

Just as well. I'm really squeamish about foreign objects touching my eyeballs anyway...

MissMagnoliaThunderpussy I am an not convinced that the Dems are going to win back the White House, they haven't actually put anyone in the race that is electible.

Come on Hillary is going to be bring out angry males of both parties to vote against her. Hillary also has the temper and has yet to answer any tough questions from the Media. Wait till she snaps.

Obama, he is a pretty new face but he is trailing Hillary for the black vote, apparently black voters don't like him as much as Hillary. Obama aslo has way too many questions that haven't been answered as of yet.

Bring on Edwards, LMO he is nothing more than a pretty face, the man talks about two americas and obviously lives in the other america, the one with lavish houses and unending wealth. This is the same guy who couldn't get re-elected to the senate in his own state.

If I was a democrat I wouldn't be over confident.

I must admit, that as a writer you, Fred, are as good as or better than your house maid, Pop. What comes to looks, can't see her beating you in that score either. What I wanted to say, though, is that this Obama's suitability issue is suprising, at least to me. If true, Obama gets less support from your African-American community because of his father being of all the things - AFRICAN. What the he...

The pussy's here at Polly's Honky Tonk Saloon and Whorehouse have never seen a black man.

But they get along very well with the black pussy that lives in their yard even though she is nothing more than a squatter that eats their food.

They all live and play well together.

As for me, I've never been around a lot of colored people. But I know this.

I've had some great colored friends. And I've known a lot of white 'niggers' that I don't want to spend any time with.

Just saying.
