Will Romney be the Republicans’ John Kerry?

Right now it appears the stars are aligned to make Romney the Presidential candidate for the Republican party. I believe they would have a greater chance with Huntsman if the party members were all thinking straight but we know that isn’t the case.

I remember when John Kerry became the Democrats’ candidate back in 2004. I don’t think I was alone when I found myself unable to get really excited about him even though I knew I would vote for him. I mean what was there to get excited about other than the possibility that he might prevent George Bush from having four more years in the oval office?

I think if Romney is the Republican candidate he will leave the Republicans feeling his only plus is that he might remove President Obama from the white house. With the Republican party split between the sane Republicans and the Tea Party people, I think Romney's chances for success are far less than John Kerry’s were almost eight years ago.

Very perceptive post. Let's hope he is the Republican Kerry. Because then, even when he loses, he won't appear on all the Sunday Bobblehead Shows, unlike Granpa Walnuts, who lost really big, yet is on every other Sunday.
