One Proud Doggie Mom
Because Martini hasn’t gotten to go in the car, except to the groomer, since we returned from vacation we decided to take him with us yesterday when we went to PetSmart. We needed more doggie toothpaste for him and we also needed wild birdseed.
When we got there the parking lot was just about full. I think the best stimulators of the economy are pet lovers. I put Martini inside the shopping cart and as always he looked out through the little holes in the cart. He seems to have no idea that he could stand on his back legs and look over the top edges of the cart.
He loves to peek out at the hamsters and mice in their cages. A local shelter had brought about a dozen kittens who were looking for forever homes and he enjoyed watching them too. He shows no aggression or anything he just studies all these little animals. Shoppers were watching Martini with amazement as he so gently observed these other little forms of life.
It seemed every shopper in the store had their own dog with them and as almost always with pet owners, everyone was smiling and so polite to one another. There were lots of comments shared with us about how beautiful Martini is and how sweet he is and his excellent behavior. I just can’t explain to you how large that smile on my face grew as I listened to these words. I am so proud of my little dog and I love him so much. Even Fred the Cat has nothing negative to say about his “little” brother.

Haven't heard from Fred lately, you know.
I feel the same way when we take our doggies to the feed store. Folks with their dogs are just so (doggone) friendly! We all delight in each others' babies. Martini is a very good doggie indeed.
