PetSmart is like a candy store to me
I love to go to PetSmart! Back during the time when we didn’t have a dog, I loved to go there and pet other people’s dogs. Now that I have a dog, I love to take him sometimes so other people can pet him.
Last Sunday we went to PetSmart without Martini. We went to get wild birdseed and a toothbrush and doggie toothpaste. I’m gonna take care of this little dude’s teeth.
When we went in PetSmart one of the first things we saw was a rack of winter sweaters for all sorts of dogs. Yorkies are sensitive to heat and cold so I decided Martini must have a nice little white cable knit sweater for when our Florida weather cools off a bit. Winters down here are sort of like hurricane season, you never know how brutal or how mild they might be.
Okay, on to the dental supplies. After careful consideration and on the recommendation of our vet, we opted for the little toothbrush that fits on the end of your index finger and poultry flavored natural toothpaste. Our vet warned to never use human toothpaste on dogs.
On the way out of the store a couple of really cute toys caught our eye, then we chose the birdseed we needed. As we were standing in line waiting to pay, we turned around and behind us stood a large older man. I’m guessing he was in his late fifties. He was dressed in total biker leathers from head to toe. He had over his shoulder a leather and mesh bad. Inside that bag was a beautiful little shih tzu dog. The little dog had on doggie biker goggles. Naturally I had to strike up a conversation with this biker-dog-lover guy. He said his little dog goes everywhere with him on his Harley.
Outside in the parking lot, we watched this mature biker dude hop on his bike and he and his little dog dude rode off into the Sunday afternoon. Where else but PetSmart might you see something like that?

Oh what a hoot! I love the HarleyDog, and I didn't even see him/her.
We have PetSmart stores here too, but I usually go to PetCo, which is quite similar, but PetCo stocks the cat food that Her Royal Fluffiness demands.
