The President for this time?

There is a lot being said these days about the President not standing up to the republicans on Healthcare Reform and lots of other things.

This is just my opinion. I think this President, a black man, would have never gotten where he is today by being a hard ass. He learned early on that to make any progress in this world, he would have to be able to give and take. Let's face it, even our country wasn't ready for a kick ass, take no names, black man. I'm not sure he has the capability to kick butt, it just may not be in him. Sadly our political situation has gotten beyond doing what is right for the country and has instead become a party political battle field year around. We may have a President that is better than what we need or deserve.

I think he's going about thing correctly. He's careful and measured in his words and actions. There is no "extremis situtation" with him as it was with Dubya and Darth. Politics has been in a state of subjugation for so long now that our generation is forgetting what government is about. It is, today, a game of "gotcha" and "get mine" and to hell with the people. I think Obama is measured and thoughtful because he really cares about the people.

"Politics: A strife of interests masquerading as a contest of principles. The conduct of public affairs for private advantage.” —Ambrose Bierce

"We are not afraid to entrust the American people with unpleasant facts, foreign ideas, alien philosophies, and competitive values. For a nation that is afraid to let its people judge the truth and falsehood in an open market is a nation that is afraid of its people." -John F. Kennedy

"Too bad that all the people who really know how to run the country are busy driving taxi cabs and cutting hair." - George Burns

The problem isn't the Republicans. They are obviously good and bought by the monied interests of this county and they make no bones about it. The problem is how many Democrats, some of them considered liberal, are equal amounts of corrupt.

This President, via his chief of staff, sold us out months ago to big pharma and the insurance companies in exchange for campaign money.

He may be what many in this country deserve, but I expect better.

I dunno I think it's us, not the opposition that've moved beyond race.

They're the ones that need a kick in the nuts. I don't care who gives it to them.
