Quick thoughts on Iran

I don’t know about you guys, but I’m getting pretty tired of the Republicans and even some Democrats mouthing off about what President Obama should do regarding the situation in Iran.

With our recent track record of sticking our noses into other countries’ business, I think the best thing we can do right now is be respectful of the Iranians and also try to get our own country back in some sort of reasonable shape.

Funny, seems to me those howling loudest for the President to take a firmer stand regarding Iran are the same ones who were so excited to invade Iraq. How did that work out for everyone?

Until our country can figure how to give every American good healthcare, maybe we should just keep our noses at home and keep them to the healthcare grindstone.

Let's not forget how much fun these usual suspects had screaming about the invasion of Georgia last year. Of course, when Israel invades any neighbor it's justified, but that's a different story.

Yep, even when they are out of power, I'm still pretty sick of these clowns.

Preach on, PoP. Equality and healthcare, not bombs and guns, for our kids!

imnsho, President Obama has taken EXACTLY the correct line on this - it is inappropriate for the US to involve itself in the electoral processes of other countries.

I could not be more proud to have voted for him.

It's so, so easy to shriek from the sidelines when you have no real responsibility in the matter.

I, for one, am thrilled McSame isn't president right now what with his, "Bomb, Bomb,Bomb! Bomb,Bomb Iran" stance during the campaign. And remember what he did right after that statement? He chuckled.

And, I think Roger's got the right idea. Use reverse psychology on those twits. They're too stupid to catch on.

Those who would have us "help" Iran would like to see the son of the Shah installed as the new leader. How'd that work out for democracy?

Ain't nothing we do can change the situation for the better over there. That said, sorry, but those folks are the ones who welcomed the mullahs with open arms 30 years ago, the same ones who shouted "death to America" and called us the "Great Satan"; justifiably so in some cases, but I'll be damned if we shed American blood or treasure for 'em. Yeah, I'll pat 'em on the back for waking up, finally, but that's about all the Iranians will get out of me until the Ayatollahs hit the highway, moderate at the very least.
