A Nightmare

If McCain becomes our next president, what the hell will our country look like in four more years? That’s a nightmare that I just can’t deal with. I don’t want four more years like the past eight….or worse, if that’s possible.

We have such a great opportunity with Senator Obama and yet it is possible that we could lose it. What’s it going to take to make everyone understand how damned important this election is for us and for the future of the United States?

That is the million dollar question, PoP. And one that avoids the very real possibility of a false flag October surprise. As miserable as McCain is performing, the GOP is truly desperate to maintain their grasp on power, and this is the one area where, oddly enough, the majority of Americans seem to believe McCain is superior.

I'm filling out my expatriate forms as we speak -- I'll not be dragged over the edge of the precipice by millions of the lowest common denominator.

Not very helpful, I know, but the authoritarian right wing nut jobs of this country have caused me enough damage already.

Have a nice day. ;-)

OT, but try and read this latest William "The Bloody" Kristol "op-ed" without your head exploding.

Be Afraid. Please.

Fathom the lack of logic, reasoning, facts; the tired, worn out rhetoric.

"Don’t McCain backers also have hope — for an America that wins its wars, protects its unborn children and allows its citizens to keep more of their hard-earned income?"

Yeah, that hard-earned income that will be used to pay corrupt Mil contractors for the next 20 years due to needless wars of imperialism; to bail out corrupt banks and the brokers who have already skipped with their vast commissions for tendering ill-advised loans; to prop up the imploding economy which has shipped every conceivable job and factory to countries chocked with disposable laborors and less than zero environmental and safety regulations. Need I continue debunking the rest of this drivel?

Be afraid. Please?

You bet I am. I'm afraid these traitors will persist in duping a nation of morans into selling out their last hope of survival.

Would somebody please dispose of this maggot.
Posthaste.

Seemed almost amusing to me that the Obama numbers dipped slightly during the week McCain was belly-aching about being upstaged (or however his camp described it), and all that judgmental media rhetoric about the 7/23 speech being presumptuous and premature and inappropriate ... pffft. I found it hugely inspiring and hugely appropriate. Audacious, even. Loved every word of it.

Meanwhile, Obama's grassroots movement, PoP, has half the funds of the McCain clan. The lastest McCain ad I saw really irritated me. What a waste of PUBLIC money, insinuating that high gas prices are somehow Barack Obama's fault!

Team Obama needs more volunteers in the trenches, making the telephone calls, registering the voters, hosting meetings in our homes. You can find out how to get to work getting Obama elected at barackobama.com. Under "events" you can enter your zip code and find a group to hook up with.

It's WONDERFUL to be pissed off; it's even better to put that anger to good use.

It's a big election for the other side as well. For the very afraid in the voting public, it's the fight against scary black people and scary gay people and scary liberals in general. For the afraid at the higher levels of the Republican Party, it's the fight against a non-politicized Justice Department, because a lot of crimes took place these past eight years, and prosecutors unafraid of losing their jobs could put a lot of Republicans and Republican donors in jail.

There was a time when I would have said that it was impossible to imagine electing someone who would be so bad for the best interests of our country. Too bad I had to be proved wrong; and twice no less! I can only hope that there are enough people who can finally see through this crap and are ready for a change; you would think it would be a slam dunk, but apparently not.

I'm worried. Really worried. Your other commenters make excellent points.

I'm also worried because Democrats will also be fighting mucked up voting systems. Purging is going on right now and, of course, the voters being purged are likely Obama voters.

I have to disagree, Roger. There are a lot of conservatives who are going with the Phil Gramm idea that we are just whiners and it's a mental recession. In the marketplace of ideas, I think it's a big loser, but it doesn't stop people from repeating it.

As scary as this post was, the comments (and especially the OT info from Dr. Know) were even scarier! Just the idea of a McCain presidency is enough to give me hives. If I hear one more stupid republican talk about how "brave and strong" McFossil is, I think my head will explode. I will have to leave the country; I just can't bear the idea of watching it go to hell all around me for yet another four years.

Sorry, PoP, didn't mean to derail your missive. But thanks to all who noticed. Now if I could just get the rest of my idiot neighbors to listen to obvious reason.

And DCup, you should well be concerned about voting system irregularities. There are some in the know who loudly proclaim that the last few elections in GA were rigged as well, yet the media totally ignores these voices.

Georgia's Failed Experiment - Electronic Voting

I won't even get started on what happened in Florida and Ohio...

The fix is totally in.

amazingly, i am the optimist about this topic.

obama by a landslide, baby. don't believe the fixed, phony polls. there is a whole segment of the country that is rarely, if ever polled. the mainstream media ignores this segment, which includes twenty-somethings with cell phones only. that's just one portion of the demographic that the media ignores.

and if the right wing machine tries to pull any crap this time, we the people have to be brave enough to stand up and fight, not cower and submit.

they can't stop this train. believe it.

Yeah, Poor McCain. Plenty of reasons for him to "go postal." Married his meal ticket after dumping the first victim (evil Newt also comes to mind). Propped up by a legion of drooling sycophants and well oiled masters. Paid far more than he's worth, and never has to worry about medical care or retirement -- even though these guys never pay one thin dime into Social Security. Generally, not a serious care in the world.

Try having your life, home, money, tools of your trades, and propery destroyed.
Have multiple careers shipped overseas and left with the prospect of working at McDonald's for minimum wage.
Avaricious dentists and doctors who place 22 room mansions above fair and ethical business practices.
Insurance companies who refuse to pay victims because they don't possess the wherewithal to challenge them in court - mostly to make up for losses precipitated by pettifoggers who game the system at citizen's expense.
Jailed - chained and naked - for weeks on false charges precipitated by some Neocon scum.
Pursued around the country by crazed Neocons bent on covering their misdeeds.
Face corrupt judiciary and legal tools who place profit above the rules and ethics of law - alone.
Surrounded by collusive cretins, including C&L bloggers, who aren't smart enough to fully conceal their sordid involvement, yet aren't honorable enough to proclaim what devious acts they are clandestinely participating in.
Spend 22 years totally alone because of some sick, twisted Neocon femme fatal that should have been aborted at birth.
Aquaintences who sell out others in exchange for lucrative jobs and property.
Floods, hurricanes, collapsing bridge disasters, FEMA, Wars, and...

Now THAT's worthy of going postal over. Welcome to the lifestyles of your average US citizen, and The Most Sophisticated Banana Republic in the World.

those [thankfully] few who I've heard praise McSame, when I've said the words, 'Supreme Court', have suddenly gotten a panicky look in their eyes. then, they even look thoughtful and have been known to walk away muttering to themselves.

and these people are among the LEAST likely among us to actually, you know, learn something. retirees.
being retired myself, I think I'm allowed to say that out loud without being accused of discrimination.
hope so, anyway.

so, I'll just keep pushing the SCOTUS button when people get starry-eyed about someone their own age getting into the WH.
hope it works.

A nightmare will be putting it mildly especially if Romney is his VP as I expect. Democrats are America's enemy as Romney says. I have said numerous times that McAssWipe is already the next false Republican God chosen to finish this mis-agenda thus us! They are only concerned with how they are going to steal a third election. Some of the options, killing Obama, martial law, etc are bad but i see no way in hell that they will let the awesome power stolen by bush in our hands. No way!

Sorry to hijack your blog, PoP, but since you have more traffic than I these days, I'd like your readers to have a look at these sites dealing with depleted uranium.

My original background post from May 2006:

Warning - graphic fetal deformation depicted!
Death Made In America

Do we, as Americans, want this sordid secret on our consciences?

Is this election important? Are realistic choices in candidates who are not bought and paid for by malicious industries important?

You tell me.

I have written about it a few times but you can bet depleted uranium is responsible for Gulf War syndrome and we have already destroyed the middle east for habitation because of fall out and the air currents.
A lot of the increase in Autism and other diseases are also attributed to depleted uranium ans nuclear tests etc. It is no coincidence that cities around these areas show the highest rates but of course the US says there is no proof!

His foundations donate to everyone of consequence including the nominees but to date I have failed to impress upon hi the dire situations as at 91 he says we have been here before but we have not! and Bush has ruined this country...and wreaked havoc around the world....

if McGramps is elected....that is is..I am done...gone ...packed...I would sooner live in a hut and eat dirt than muddle ( aka struggle ) through one more Minute of MORE Bush Regime....
