This really is the definition of insanity

I hope to heavens that I am wrong but I fear the congress will give bush another fifty billion dollars for his war and things will go on as they have for the past years in Iraq. We’ll hear about six more months needed to “win” the war. Will it be called the continuation of the surge or will the surge be replaced by some other inane title? I don’t know but I expect the results will be the same.

We just keep doling out the money, leaving the same people in charge and fighting the same war. Should we expect a different result?

And an FYI. You can watch General Petraeus’ report today on C-span3. If you don’t get that channel on your TV, you can watch it on C-span’s website. Just Google C-span and click on view C-span3. This will be on at 12:30pm (eastern time)

Your analysis is entirely correct....and if we do expect different resutlts....then we're even dumber than the folks running this horror show...(:

And that lapdog General's report will be more of the SOS. "It's working." "We need more time."

The next one will be called a boost. I've been reading that Dubbie wants this to go beyond his last term so it can be dumped into the lap of the succeeding president and the blame laid at their door. The Congress better get their ducks in a row over this and beat him at it real quick. He and He alone needs to stay the author of that debacle.

Joe Biden Leiberman already said he'd give gw whatever $$$ he wanted, so yes indeedy, the dems have no reason to complain about the repubs, or their being booted out of office soon either! ; (

Very depressing no one will stand up when we as a nation are falling into little pieces! ; (

Insanity consists of repeating the same mistakes and expecting the results to be different.

How come I know that and the idiots running the show don't?

I'm convinced that W wants more than anything to push the nuke button, both to ensure we'll be stuck in the quagmire for many years to come, and just so's he can say he did, and his dad didn't get to.

I'm predicting the attack on Iran will come within the next two weeks. Hope to hell I'm wrong.

I sure hope you are wrong PoP but I fear you aren't. I just can't fathom why the Dems can't stand up to an unpopular president against an unpopular war. It sure seems like a simple task.

Insanity - Our leaders define that word. Failure is success, as long as the money keeps flowing.

The "madness" continues............

There are a lot of sensible people in this country, but they seem to have no power over what is happening.

Our whole form of government has to be changed to correct that.

These people are certainly driving me insane. It amazes me that we haven't stormed the capitol with pitchforks yet.

It feels a bit like a dismal day. I am not happy, no not one bit.

It will be interesting to watch. And it is all spoken... like a Diebold electronic voting machine, the Petraeus report apparently leaves no paper trail!

And who said this admin doesn't care about global warming and Kyoto protocols?

Bwahahahahaha. Not even remotely funny is it?

I agree. They are trying to act like the past 4 years hasn't even happened! It's like 6 months ago we found ourselves in Iraq with a surge of troops. Who knows what it will take to convince them that we are all tired of waiting on something we didn't support to begin with. It is a betrayal.

I had to stop following American politics for awhile for such was my frustration and incomprehension of it. My hiatus, I thought, would give me a mental capacity enough to cope for another week or two. It's the day three, and I am starting to sputter already and feel sick and tired.

It's given that the merry lads in the big and white house in Washington DC are going to do their very best to repeat their never ending chain of mind boggling and stupid decisions but the fact that they allowed to do so with impunity is not.

We all know what sort of droppings are falling down from the Leader Rat's butt but does the Congress has to have their collective mouth open and pretend that they are chewing just Smarties?

My main conviction is that they're ALL profiting so handsomely from the Iraq mess, that they don't want to pull out. I suppose you could mix in a big dose of wussiness on the part of many Democrats, but way too many of them are also Dems in name only.
War is great for business. And they're all pretty much in bed with business.

i watched the documentary on hbo last night on "alive day" the interviews with wounded vets.

it was free of political leanings and yet, how could one not come away thinking that this administration is wrong and deadly.

liars? well i already knew that.

Bush is so arrogant and the Democrats are so spineless, they will just "surge on" knowing nobody will stop them.

Perhaps the surge will be followed by the purge! The purge will involve getting rid of all the freeloaders in the Iraqi Parliament. They could be replaced by some good American politicians, really get the show on the road.

Cheers!

"Stepnfetchit" Reid and "Persuadable" Pelosi have no intention of doing anything differently. The moronic monkey will prevail, just like he always does.

I hope, hope, hope that people are paying attention to how their reps are voting. Especially those living in the Districts of the House "leadership."
