What's Next?

We are being told this morning that Saddam was executed last night. What will happen as a result of this execution?

Bush will start with his speachification. Freedom, Democracy, Justice...bla, bla, bla, stuff I've ensured the Iraqi people will never see for a long time.

In Iraq, more sectarian violence. More people will die needlessly, including US soldiers.

In the world community, more certainty that this was a sham war concocted by a brainless twit who was tragically unable to shake a nasty Oedipal complex and insists on playing it out in a world-historical context rather than buying a sports car and a trophy wife.

In America, one of the last "civilized" countries to avidly support the death penalty, I expect the majority will see the execution as justice and not ponder the similarities between the lying, torturing, warmongering despot who swung last night and the one who occupies our highest "elected" office.

What Betty Cracker says in spades. The rest of the civilized world is just shaking their heads in disgust this morning at the primitive Americans.

It's hard to say how it will go. Those morons have been fighting each other for thousands of years.

I think it will continue to be hell over no matter what America does, stay or leavening won't change that.

But maybe, if America stays, or NATO goes in, there will be at least some calm. My choice would be NATO.

All I really know is that the next year should be pretty interesting.

How in all honesty, can this government ride a high horse, after helping him along all these years,
and staying quiet when he was killing all those people? ; (

Ugh!

I'm sure this will result in some sort of "ripple" in the chaotic, cauldron of violence that we have stirred up in Iraq. I just read a comment from a Sunni leader “The execution of Saddam means that the flame of vengeance will be ignited and it will hurt the body of Iraq with unrecoverable wound.” Doesn't sound promising, does it?

Wait, the fun is just about to begin. As the carriers move into the Persian Gulf Der Fuehrer Bush is getting ready too start World War III.

He is looking at Iran and he is crazy enough to launch missiles at Iran, unless anyone really believes he's not that insane.

2007 will be a year when the world will finally wake up and see that having America as an ally it not worth it and will break all relations with us.

At least I hope and pray so for all the worlds sake.

God Bless

The jury's still out on the question as to if we are better off without Saddam in the world. But an even more medlesome and troubling question comes into the fore at this point: What part of America hung on the Gallows with Saddam?

I have no tears for Saddam.

It must be obvious by now, that we would be better off if we had left Saddam in power and delt with him instead of the mess we have now.

All crack boy has, is his war. He thinks he needs to win to be thought well of in History. No matter what happens, he will go down as the worst President ever.

He will send more troops to Iraq, and attacking Iran is not out of the picture.

It's sad that more Americans and Iraqis have to die to satisfy his ego.

For wingnuts, they are declaring victory and mission accomplished (again)

Reality will be more of the same...You know, every day soldiers and Iraqis die as our leaders handring on how to sell us the idea of sending more troops and staying in Iraq for several more years.

No real plan or strategy, just handringing over the sales pitch

No one dare walk under a dangerously exhausted sun
For a dark approaching mist is falling over the world.
Instead, the occupied, the purchased, gather in atonement,
And upon bended knee pray for their release, their freedom,
Beseeching their God to close the black mouth of terror
And deliver them from stalking death… no more.
String. Lace. Tighten. Pace. Boom!

Walking in your shoes, Mr. Bush, is an honor among bandits.
Treading across the mosque floor in a lifeless lace-up dance
He strode to the center of the prayer and lifted thirteen to Allah.
He strode to the inside and with your visage upon his face
In your image, in your footprint, this sole bomber did split it,
Clearing the sacrosanct hurdle of your phantom war.
String. Lace. Tighten. Pace. Boom!

Standing now in the swinging door of your terror
A warrior examined the carnage loudly,
And said “terrorist” in a mirrored voice;
Utterance of empire that he could not have recognized
Standing upon the damp carpet of retaliation
And sorrowful prayers for the occupied and dead.
String. Lace. Tighten. Pace. Boom!

Walking in your shoes, Mr. Bush, is an honor among bandits.
Treading across the occupations lifeless, drumming dance,
Your feet have kicked down the door to sovereignty!
In your reflection, in your path, this sole bomber did split it,
Your infection moved with smooth perfection across the room,
Ambled toward the center of grace and blasted his voice skyward!
String. Lace. Tighten. Pace. Boom!

Uh Patricia? Don't you know to solve everything in Bush's world means to go shopping? This is what will result of Saddam's hanging. It's what Bush says we must do! More shopping by Americans, so Bush can feel better about his atrocious actions! See? Just go shopping...

Before we decided to take Saddam down, we spent a decade building him up. That makes his execution a grisly exclamation point on our middle-east bungling, little more.

As far as being in Hell or Heaven I don't think Saddam knows the difference. He not only has killed but has continued to destroy so many lives not just in death but even the ones living with ther lose's....and i think it's going to get worse Bush will strut like he's done something as always and I see more violence even in our own country...are we ready to bare arms ourselves...NO we are a peaceful loving country...and we were not taught or raised with violence...

nothing that wouldn't be happening anyway. that's the whole stupidity of it. it won't make a difference one way or another. just one more stupid death in a stupid war. it will only matter up until they figure out the next inconsequential thing to label a "milestone."

Dear POP,

you know, i'm hopeful that something good will happen. i quit my old job (ten years in the belly of the Mil-Indust-Com-P beast) and i start my new job this week.

what i hope happens with bush is that he lives a long life in a small dark cell with one tiny window that lets in feeble rays of sunlight that he may mark the passing of time and when he dies he is buried in an unmarked grave in the shifting sands of the Iraq desert he squandered so many lives over and if i never hear his pathetic bleating again it will be too soon.

but like the sign says over the cafeteria line at the Freedom Ranch: "This too shall pass."

Happy Peaceful New Year!!!!!

peace, peter
