Nightmare Material

“Vaccarella -- who, as Bunch reported, was listed in his 1999 candidate profile as director of operations for a company that operated 31 Pizza Hut restaurants -- towed a "mock but realistic-looking" version of the trailer issued to him and his family after the hurricane by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) from Louisiana to Washington with the intention of cooking a meal of "shrimp and redfish and other good food" for Bush inside the trailer. According to the Times-Picayune, Vaccarella instead met with the president in a private session.”

And
“VACCARELLA: I just don't want the government and President Bush to forget about us. And I just wish the president could have another term in Washington --
BUSH: Wait a minute.
VACCARELLA: You know? I wish he had another four years, man.”
Read the entire excellent article at Media Matters

Was this bush’s Katrina version of “Mission Accomplished”? Will they ever stop with this sort of stuff? This whole episode should be dusted for fingerprints. See if they match up with those of Karl Rove.

So Rockey Vaccarella wants four more years of this nightmare. What the hell has he been promised or what the hell has he been drinking?

Typical Republican politician. I'm sure he's going to run for something again. Figures shrub will help him run. The guy has plenty of money. His mortgage was covered in full so he could rebuild. A lot of people weren't so lucky... and still aren't.

The Rude Pundit has a brilliant take on this - Vaccarella was already half insane, being a Republican 'activist.'

Katrina just pushed his worthless ass the rest of the way over the edge.

Looks like the poor guy suffered head injuries when the levees broke.

Is it just me, or has CNN become just another cheering squad for Bushco?

That's all they do, these days. Photo ops. It's the only thing they do well, so they stick to it.

Hell, a lot of Republican politicians are avoiding Bush, did this guy not catch on to that? Or maybe, being a Republican, he got a lot of special consideration that wasn't so readily availiable to the other NO residents.

In fact, after seeing that he was listed in Bush's candidate profile going as far back as 1999, I almost know that's the case.

This guy obviously didn't watch the Spike Lee documentary on on HBO this week and there is no doubt he is a few fries short of a Happy Meal.

What a farce. I saw CNN piece. Just try to park a trailer in front of the White House.
It was stage managed as sure as the attacks of 911 were.

Peace. It's possible.

Walt, take comfort that Katrina did the opposite to some republicans like myself. The Katrinacrat was born by the very same virtue. Only it tipped people like me that were getting mad at them in a diff. direction.

Now they have to deal with the exiled that now take up the Dem cause, and fight like the thugs.

One of my sayings is: I became a Marine and a Republican under Reagan--I became The Katrinacrat under George W. Bush!!

If people like Doctor(I guess sticking your finger up a cat's ass to check its temp. is reason enough to use that title) pRick don't get it, then I have to suggest that they invest in a crash helmet, because the brick wall known as reality that they will eventually run into, will not be a pretty scene.

The only people who really would benefit from 4 more years are Al Queda, The Kellog Group and cartoonists. It's probably not worth it...

yeah, "Rocky" must have been well coached by Rovey- and even told where to "park' the "trailer"....I guess CNN is going the path of Fox- lovely...whelp..ya' Know Hitler had a lot of photo ops at the end of his Regime too...

The questions I would like to see answered: If this is a "mock but realistic" FEMA trailer - Who built the mockup? How much did it Cost? Who paid for it?

Certainly if Rocky is a legitimate Katrina victim he would hardly be throwing money around for a recreation of his home. If things are so bad for him and his family, why is this selfish SOB traveling to DC instead of helping his neighbors?

Total phony baloney. It is amazing CNN broadcast the farce.

Vaccarella? Wasn't that a fun dance game back when? I watched the little dance Vacci did and his eye movements and he sure had the look of someone who was not only on something, but was lying. Gnats, thats all these things are, just gnats.

Vaccarella, Macarena, Same difference, Remember the movie and Musical, "Best little Whorehouse in Texas"? There was a little ditty in there about dancing a little two step. Bush and Rove are doing the "Texas Two Step" and a gullible America laps it up.

PoP,
I posted about this as well. My take on this is that Rockey is yet another sycophant political pawn that was supposed to be another publicity op for the the Presidential Propaganda Catapult. My question at my location was what differentiates the person who gets to versus Cindy Sheehan, not get to visit personally with the president....

I'll leave it there. Y'all already know that answer, don't you.

Blog on PoP, blog on all.

Yep - Rove is written all over this one.

No one in their right mind could believe that anything short of a very small minority, thinks Bush helped them down there.
