"If you want more, then desire less."

-I have no clue who said it.

My cat in my lap, a good book on the porch and a cold, spicy Bloody Mary with extra Old Bay seasoning in it.

My cats, my flowers, and health. I am always cheered to watch the kitties chase each other, as they are doing this morning. Back and forth, they run. How cute. Even though, someone, I don't know which, I just heard the clunk and saw cats scatter, knocked down a plant pot causing dirt to fly everywhere, last night.

Curling up with a good book, a mug of hot tea with sugar and lemon, and a warm and mellow classical music CD playing.

There seems to be a theme involving being curled up, with liquids, and animals. :-)

Snuggled in my robe in a lounge chair on the patio at dawn with a hot cup of coffee and the cats curled up at my feet watching the sun come up.

Waking up and seeing my husband and my doggie and my kitties. Sunshine and rain. Watching my flowers bloom. Cheap plastic chili pepper lights on the deck. Great music and great books. Laughing with friends. A lot of simple pleasures that so many are denied like a warm shower, a bed, a nice meal, things that many cannot have. Almost any beverage, tea, coffee, water, wine, juice, gin, and ice. I bet no one in Iraq has any water, much less ice, unless they are lucky. The stars, I like gazing at the moon and the stars. I am glad I do not have to fear nightfall or watch bombs bursting in the air. We are all so blessed.

This was a tougher question than I thought it would be. Too many things to choose from. But there's something to be said for the sights and smell of a spring morning.

One of my pleasures is what many people call work. I am very happy on a hot summer day cutting the grass. A bonus is having a ball game on the radio and a cold beverage. As someone once told me, you know you are getting old when you're good time is a lawn mower and a six pack.

Watching my child sleep peacefully.

My dog wagging his stubby tail when I walk into the room.

My husband's hilarious imitations of acquaintances.

A close football game with victory for my team at the end (plus some decent beer).

Being up late at night or very early in the morning with the family asleep but close by.

The sound of rain on a tin roof with thunder rumbling in the distance.

The austere beauty of a salt marsh.

POP ( This is OFF Subject)- hey there- I saw you had some questions over on Craigs- will leave you a note both places-
(1) Yes, Craigs takes awhile to load- could be the video- or that there is more traffic ;-) ?
(2) Saddam has been a hunger strike for over two weeks- and last week a psych team was brought in to "Coach" him to eat-this week they are negogiating putting a feeding tube(forced obviously).
He is on strike actually for an interesting reason- requesting better protection of his defense team- since they keep getting bumped off.The judge has said that the trial will continue- with him present or not.
( He thought he would stop the trial-no cigar).Aljezeera did have news of it on their site- a few days ago- don't know if it is still there...( oh yeah NSA I read THAT site- kiss my ass)

My pleasure is snuggling with my wife in front of the fireplace with some wine during an early spring Thunderstorm. The three Cocker Spaniels are at our feet, with my fat little black one, Lucy, trying to propel her girth onto the couch to get between us, so she can rest her head gently on one of our legs. My 4 best friends in the worls all in one room with me. that is a pleasure.

Before I read anyone elses (yah, I know I'm late to this party. Any booze left?)

Seeing someone smile at something I did.
Yah, puppy licks. What the heck is it with those? lol
The last blooming of the roses, towards the end of Autumn. Good timing there, buds.
Looking at someone I love, and both of us spontaneously smiling bigtime, w/o caring why.
Bittersweet, but knowing I've done the right thing, even though doing the wrong thing is what someone really wanted of me.
Cool comments from unexpected sources on my blog, when I was just venting about how much trouble I happened to be having with whatever it was life was throwing at me without my wanting it.

Walking outside and seeing a moon the size of a mansion at the end of summer.

Ahhh... Thanks POP. I too often forget to savor this stuff on my own. {-;

Really though, they sell garbage bags at Canadian Tire(I'm in Canada)that are really strong. Hero garbage bags! What a pleasure! No worries! no ridiculously thin bags that stretch and break rather than stay together when you lift a heavy load.

A walk in the clouds,
far from the madding crowd,
in the himalyan valleys,
to touch a clowd ,
to see the sun rise from horizon,
to read under a big tree on a lazy afternoon
to be on the mountains,
to hear the water streams,
the sound of air flowing in a valley

Oh , there are so many of them

cheers,

Buying memory cards is such a chore... You have to search online for prices, filter through which ones are genuine, step out and walk around a bunch of electronics shops, compare prices, finally buy your memory, and then constantly pray that the price doesn't fall in the next 2 weeks or so.

I've been screwed over by rapid price drops in the past... especially this one time when I bought a Micro SD card for my R4 gaming flash card at what I thought was a bargain price, only to later see that it had dropped by $5 in a week's time.
