I'm Back!

Boy, did we have a great time. The weather was perfect. Just wanted to share this photo of a scrub jay that we visited on our second day. The first day we walked the beaches looking for piping plovers and we saw probably a couple of dozen. The second day we visited an area preserved for scrub flora and fauna. There are several families of scrub jays living there and here's one member of one of the families. They are amazingly curious birds and have little fear of people. Tomorrow I'll show you how curious they can be.

I missed you guys. Over the weekend I'll share a couple more pictures from our trip. It's so good to be home!

Welcome back. I (we?) missed you and your commentaries. Glad you had a good time. There are certainly a whole bunch of political items from CL to chose from this morning to sink your teeth into.

Welcome home POP!

I bet Murphy and Fred the cat were all over you.
I would ask if you got a tan...but I bet you always have one.

Renee, Murphy and Fred the Cat will be home around 5 this afternoon. We came home, unloaded the car and Mr. Pop went to the lab. I have been doing the dreaded return home laundry and getting back in the groove of being home. Mr. Pop will pick up the "kids" on his way home. Can't wait to see Murphy since this will be his first professional do since his illness. His groomer is also his babysitter, so she's getting him all glam-ed up before he returns home. Fred will come in and take his perch on the patio like nothing has happened. He never acts really happy or upset about anything. He just spins with the earth. I guess a few years of being a cat of the streets will do that to a cat. He's just happy to be anywhere where he's fed and loved.

Yep, got a little sun while out there doing the "hard work" of bird spotting. :)

I'll be interested to see the photos and read how the cats react to their enforced vacation. I once picked up our cat after just a weekend trip and he came home stalked to a corner and sat there with his back to me. He was not a happy greeter. A few treats and soothing words brought him around - he can be bought. Welcome back!

Yes Carl, I have been gone since last Tuesday. Didn't get to do any shopping. This was a nature geek, tree hugging, bird watching, part of Mr. Pop's business trip.

My new blouse? Sorry, I'm clueless about this. Maybe it's my sun-fried brain damage or something. Please help me out on the "crumbling sports section" and "new blouse" deal. :)

Are piping plovers the tools used to dig holes under ground to install the pipes that drain gutters without having to dig up your lawn? Welcome back.

Nice to have you back!

One of these days I will have to show you my neighborhood bird photos.

I was thinking of starting a blog with just photos of birds I have taken.

If/when I do, I will let you know...

Welcome back. Hope you had a good trip. "Your birds" are arriving in the north country. This week the Blue birds, Harriers, Rough-legged hawks, red winged black birds and several other migrartory species arrived.

No Piping Plovers yet.

Welcome back, POP.

Don't know if you've seen this before, but thought you might get a kick out of it if you have not.

So that's a Scrub Jay. We watched "The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill" -- must see, bring kleenex -- and Mark Bittner mentioned the Scrub Jays but never caught them on film.

Nice photograph, POP. The sky is so blue, and the image is crisp and clean. Looking forward to viewing more of your work. (I'm a bird nut, and really enjoy learning about different avian species.)

At my new work, due to firewall limitations, I cannot install the VT Trader, a software from CMS Forex. Therefore I need to buy a device, Im thinking Blackberry or a Windows Mobile and then look for a new broker dealer to start trading. Anyone knows about Mobile Forex Trading?
