The long awaited day is here

I thought on a day as big as this one when all our nerves are frayed and ragged, maybe it would be best to just post this photo I took yesterday morning. A beautiful little peacock butterfly resting contentedly on my hedge. Ah, to feel that sort of peace and contentment again. Maybe our time is just around the corner or in this case, just one spin around the clock.

Sadly, Senator Obama’s grandmother passed away yesterday. I would like to think that she felt he had this thing won and didn’t need her any longer. Thank goodness he was able to visit with her when he did.

So at the beginning of this long awaited day, Fred the Cat and I would like to say, Good Luck, Senator Obama and Senator Biden!
And especially, good luck to everyone in America!

Thanks for the wish of luck and the great picture. We have been waiting for a long time for this day and if it continues the way it appears to be going there will be reason for an extra martini tonight or at least an extra olive.

I woke up this morning feeling hopeful. I will take my daughter to school then head to my polling place to cast my vote. For the first time in several years I feel that there will be integrity, discipline, thoughtfulness and reason in the White House. I only hope that a majority of other Americans feel the same hopeful feelings that overcame me this morning.

President Obama has a nice ring to it...

peace

Good luck to us all, and hopefully we'll awaken on Wednesday to President-elect Obama. I'm ready.

Will Obama, or anyone for that matter, be able to straighten out the mess the moronic monkey leaves behind him?

Looking at it, it is really hard to see how.

I did my civic duty, you did yours, hopefully this great state helps to elect President Obama.

I cast my ballot this morning and I hope that I voted not only for the next president, but also a new Democratic Senator from Georgia.

I voted
I have my sticker on my shirt.
But now I'm so nervous
4:30 cannot get here soon enough for me to go home, whip up some dinner, chill some chablis and get ready to watch the returns.

I'm crossing toes and ankles - too hard to type crossing fingers...
