Sunday Visitor
Sunday afternoon we looked out our kitchen window to see this little opossum looking back at us from the Areca Palm that’s just outside our privacy fence. (top photo) Now I guess now we should call it our semi-privacy fence. He was working his way to the fruit on the palm. (bottom photo) So we had a Sunday visitor who came for dinner.
Thank goodness for the entertainment of nature. These days with all the mental strife and uncertainty, were it not for nature, I’m fairly sure I would lose my mind.

Looks like he is this years brood. I get the occasional family around here mostly cleaning up what the squirrels and birds leave behind. If it wasn't for the nature that goes on in my little habitat I would probably be crazy as well.
Isn't he too adorable?

POP...hi enigma4ever here...I too saw your messege for Left of Center- both of our blogs are having trouble- I have not heard from him in a while...he did both of our beautiful banners....let me know if you hear from him....enigma4ever@earthlink.net.....hope he is okay...
He's checking out where he's going to hang his hat after we all off ourselves through some human-only strain of some bioweapon.
And they say that opossums aren't cute.
you and me both. thank the fates for nature!
O My Dog, Possums FREAK me out!
Ever since one time I was visiting Portland OR. I got all buzzed at my friend's house and when I went to get in my car to drive back to the hotel there was a frikkin possum in it.
They are much bigger and less cute when they are in your car versus a tree lemme tell you.
The banner is gone completely.
Your Banner looks great- what did you do-
I came over to offer to help..I even put together a file of art for you- sunsets, Sanibel etc...if you needed a banner- but it looks like you got it fixed ?
good for you...
( I finally did the Customize thing- so there are still some bumps in it...but I am fixing it....if you need help email me enigma4ever@earthlink.net....or I can send you the art ;-)
That is so cool! I wasn't aware they even came out in the day. Not in New England or maybe it is the city?
Nature is always good...
AAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!
are you trying to give me a heart attack? I hate those things! they're horrible! and they HISS! and they bite! eeeewwwghhh!
awwwwwwwwww---
I got to know a whole family of possums quite well when I lived in KC. 4 or 5 moved _into_ my house.
I asked for it -- I had set up my back yard as a wildlife refuge. still, when the possums and a raccoon moved in, I drew the line.
had a heckuva time getting them all out and, finally, had to move the possums to a park across town. :(
he is cute
dont think I have ever seen one of those babies.cute, but prob dangerous
I think the fact that they're cute eplains why they throw themselves in front of cars all the time. They just can't live with their own cuteness.
Awww - I wonder what he was doing out during the day?
At our old house there was a magnolia tree and sometimes at night we'd see a mama possum with her babies clinging to her back - kind of cute. In a godawful way.
What does Fred think about it?
Well..it's only nature when it's not a mouse, rat or raccoon. The it's just a nuisance... heh heh
