A Vote and A Trip

A few months back Mr. Pop was asked to give a give a talk at a professional environmental gathering that begins tomorrow. So we are off to vote today and then we’ll be heading over to Sarasota for the next few days. We’ll be home sometime Saturday.

Please keep me up to date on what I’ll be missing on the “inter tubes”. I won’t be online so all I’ll have for news is the MSM.

Tell me, if you watched the State of the Union Speech last night, what did you think? How much more damage can the president do in these last few miserable months he has in office?

Have a good trip- Sarasota is very nice, as I am sure you know.

And I wish Mr. Pop well with his talk.

I have barely had time to blog... I actually missed my daily visit to you yesterday. Too much going on, it is crazy right now.

Anyway, with time in such short supply, I could not use it by watching "it" speak last night.

I am shuddering at the thought of looking at him for more than 2 seconds. What did he say?

Have fun PoP!!!

I didn't see the dribble of Bush but from what I read Pickles was drunk as usual and the Twin Tramps looked like they were vamping.

Another normal day in the Bush Family Album.

I didn't watch the SOTU. I can't watch one second of Bush, without shouting obscenities and wanting to bash in my TV with sledgehammer.

Have Fun on your trip!

I didn't watch either. I have enough challenges to my sanity and humanity without subjecting myself to Shrub.
Have a nice trip.

Enjoy the trip. Bring some essentials with you just in case he decides to nuke someone and you have to jet out of the country.

I'm appalled that nobody watched!

I watched.

My favorite part was when he was done and the nice lady on CNN said, "Well, he didn't really say anything of substance."

In a nutshell: our economy is strong; we're staying in Iraq and sending the soldiers everything they need; everyone should go to Target or Wal*Mart and spend their money from the Tax Fairy this June; the annual visit from the Tax Fairy should be made a permanent thing.
(HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!!!!!)

He looked so happy and clueless, PoP, like a Stepford President on nitrous oxide.

Other items of note: Ted Kennedy still needs to lose a few pounds; Hilary and Barack still aren't speaking to each other; Laura's red dress was a little on the Christmassy side, both for this date in January, and considering that our country's in the crapper, but she seems to have begun to address those radial wrinkles around her mouth -- you know, the ones from smoking that make us look like we have anus-lips. I'm considering writing her to ask which skin care line she's using, but if I did that I would owe it to her to recommend some collagen injections because those thin lips just make all those tabloid rumors about W being off the wagon look true.

Have a good trip, PoP. I'm going to miss you.

PoP, I watched and what I got from it is that we're spreading Democracy to protect out interests in the Persian Gulf. Code for we're killing these fuckers because we still want their oil and we'll stop at nothing to get it and control it.

PoP

Watched the SOTU and couldn't help but wonder if there was some way to put him in a closet until Jan 20 of next year just from self preservation.

BTW, family reunion gong on. Lots of the old regulars back Crawford Trail Mix

I didn't watch the State of The Union address last night. I simply couldn't stand looking at the idiot again. Besides, nothing he has to say is worth hearing.

I watched it. I couldn't hear most of what he said because I was screaming back at him after every other word. I don't know how much damage he'll do in his remaining time, but he had that demonic look in his eyes and that mouth twitching grin that said he'll certainly try to do as much as he can.

I watched, and in between imagining Bush's head exploding - over and over, I imagined both Cheney's head exploding and Pelosi's head exploding.

When I had enough of that, I noticed that the gathering kept jumping out of their seats and applauding what POTUS was saying. He made it clear he has no intention of doing anything good in Iraq, but he's all set to take credit for "drawing down" our troops. He bitched about earmarks, and informed Congress that he will veto any bill with earmarks he doesn't like. He's got some govt waste and inefficiency to root out(he's going to attack SS again I bet) and some time to make sure all his cronies get some major $$$ from the US treasury.

He said he would use executive orders to get stuff done, since the congress of the US is so slow to give him what he wants.

At one point he said all about how he was going to beat Iraq, and got a standing Ovation from everyone. The look on his face was priceless: like he could hardly believe that he had put one over on everyone. He was positively chortling!

How pitiful, that all our elected officials would applaud such a moron, and after 7 years of his disastrous policies.

I wish I had given it a pass, my brain feels like the inside of a porta potty, and I have no way to clean it up.

hey, MM--
I just added your blog to Scattershot Thoughts.
Unlike Preserve, Protect and Defend, I never let Scattershot's blog roll get over 12 and the entire sidebar is pretty sparce, as well.
so, stuff is easier to find and more up-to-date, fwiw.

So you are going to travel and do some more polluting in order to talk about the environment?

Makes perfect since to me, if I was an idiot. Well, maybe you are going to bike there.

God, I don't like to think about it. I don't like his perpetual, dictatorial use of these signing statements. Pelosi or Reid should ask Bush's rethugs EXACTLY what they think about Hillary Clinton using them in a year.

Maybe THEN we'd see some outraged republicans.

By the way, heard Hillary gave Bush a standing cheer when Bush said "the surge is working"

God, I miss having Edwards up there.

Hope you had a nice time in Sarasota (and I hope the nice folks of the Secretary of State's office count your votes).

I can recap the speech for you.

"Lie, lie, lie lie, more war, lie lie lie, terrarists, lie, lie, nucular, lie, lie, lie, want to kill us, lie, lie, good times, lie lie lie...."

In other news, the MEs fiber cables have all been mysteriously cut.

Is this a prelude to military action?

It was BS and was just one test in the preparation for world war. Ever hear of our HAARP program to rule space and all satellites shutting everything down?
