I Gotcha Karma Right Here (continued)

Remember, we gave the clever gadget to our neighbor last Saturday night. Now the story continues on the following Monday morning.

Monday morning I awoke at three and I felt awful. Upset stomach, the whole deal. Since I knew Murphy would be awake soon, I just got out of bed and began the day in the middle of the night.

About four, Murphy woke up, so I took him outside on his leash. We were standing there in the dark while Murphy sniffed around. I noticed a car coming slowly down our street. As the car approached our house it slowed more and more. My nerves tightened up as the car slowed down. At this point Murphy was doing what he came out to do, so I couldn’t grab him and move to the front door.

The car turned into our driveway slowly and crept up to where Murphy and I were. I looked at the car. The car’s interior lights came on. Then I could see the driver was a woman. She rolled down the window of her car and said, “Good morning! I thought I would save you a trip”. Then she handed me my newspaper. It was our newspaper delivery lady.

Usually, she would place the paper in the special compartment in the mailbox. The mailbox is down by the road, but since she saw me standing there, in my nightgown, in the wee morning hours, waiting for my little dog, she made the effort to turn in the driveway and save me a trip to the mailbox. I thanked her profusely for her thoughtfulness.

Is there a connection between our gift to our neighbor and the paper lady’s kindness? I truly believe there is. I call that connection, Lady Karma and I love her.

Karma can be a beautiful thing... as you are someone who not only understands that, but lives that.

I can only imagine the fear you felt and then the rush of not only relief, but the rush of kindness given and received.

Whew, I would have been really scared, but you have moxie! I would want a club to be at my side at 4am walking the dog. But then I have done such a thing and thought nothing of it at the time.
Karma or coincidence I am glad all is well in the POP neighborhood! I originally thought maybe your neighbor had fallen and really needed that gadget. Am I being pessimistic today? or what

Cool story. I can't, however, resist in making a minor correction:
What you experienced was the "fruit" of Karma.

And that fruit is called Vipaka.

Now back to your regularly scheduled blogging. :)

I'll believe in karma when I start seeing neocons frogmarched to 753 consecutive life terms in the slammer.

true dat, randal. if there really were such a thing as karma, bush and his buddies would be suffering unimaginable punishment. and what did the good people of darfur do that was "bad"---to deserve their nightmarish fate? karma ranks right up there with religion, in my world.

A connection? Could be. But if that is the case I must be a horrid person seeing that the last 6 years of my ife have been the hardest ever. If karma is around, I should hope she would take her hex off me for a change, there are worse people in the world.

smiles, nice post.

I have to believe in karma, so that I can keep believing that what Randal said will come to pass. It will, it will, it will! I'm willing to wait--but I want it to happen!

Way to go, PoP. You're a good egg.
