Foreboding

You can tell by looking at this photo that things were about to get a whole lot worse on the beach. To me this photo symbolizes the mood in our nation these days.

I took this photo last year while staying on the east coast of Florida. About 5 minutes after I shot the picture, all hell broke loose and there was a mother of a storm.

That IS a dark, moody photo! Yes, I think a sense of foreboding is warranted.

I would welcome a good rainstorm, thunder and all. We've been without rain for over 40 days and you know how well sandy soil retains moisture. I'd say the dry, crunchy brown grass is what we'll look like when Bu$h gets through with us. As for my mood, it up and down. Up=growing impeachment demand and down=What will Bu$h pull today. Ugh!

PoP,
that photo is the perfect metaphor for this nation's mood.
Too bad bushie is weathering the storm in his bubble....he really needs to get down on the beach for a healthy dose of reality.

That's what we looked like a couple of weeks ago - without the ocean, just a flood and a state declared disaster area.

Global warming is a myth though, right?

Beautiful photo - did you take it?

As for the mood, at least bad weather eventually blows through. Let's hope that's what's going to happen.

What is frightening to me about the US mood is that people seem so divided. Not just differing in views, but drawing lines and yelling across them at each other. I wonder if it's been this bad since the Civil War?

Civil discussion, free of government sponsored fear, free of religion, free of corporate fingers... that would be nice!

I was trying to find a good owl photo for you and saw this forty foot statue at a place called Bohemian Grove. Don't know if you've heard of the place, but the stories around it are trippy. Anyway, here's a link:

Looks like GW may like owls, too.

Hey POP,
You're soooo right, we as a nation have not seen so much evil at least since 'Nam, prob'ly since the Civil War. *Sheesh*

Kathleen's pic:
How completely strange that these super-christians dress up like druids to do their bigoted violent anti-jesus stuff.

Well, I think you can feel the winds of change starting to blow. I hope it's not just my imagination...

As moody and foreboding as this picture, I also find it hopeful because after the storm clears and the sun comes out the world is a nicer place to live in - till the next storm blows in.

PoP, I immeidately recognized the gulf coast of florida. It's stunningly beautiful, but forboding isn't it. I have family that lives on than panhandle and they had to evacuate three times last year. This year is not shaping up to be much better I think - both in terms of nature and in terms of the shitstorm unleashed by the W, Rove And Co. Certainly, the lead up to november is going to be a wild and wooly.
