Bay Buchanan, crowned Ms Arrogance of the Week

Over at Crooks and Liars we learn that Bay Buchanan, thinks Hurricane Katrina is so yesterday, so over, so passé. Here’s what she said. "I think Katrina has worn its welcome.- I think the American people are tired of it."

Damn, Bay believes she has her finger on the pulse of America. It’s been eight months since Katrina wrecked thousands of lives, destroyed hundreds if not thousands of homes, killed a lot of people, but no one knows how many yet because all the bodies have yet to be recovered. The levees are kinda, sorta, maybe, somewhat, hopefully about fixed. Sure Bay, we’re all so tired of hearing about death and destruction and the failure of the US government to be able to deal with something like this. Does Bay understand that there are still children unaccounted for as a result of that storm? Wonder if Bay saw her president down there yesterday along side Mayor Ray Nagin as they played, Let’s Hammer a Nail (while standing on a ladder) I guess bush isn’t quite ready to join Bay and “the American people” in being tired of it”. He’s still using it.

I would like to suggest to Ms Buchanan that she might go down to the Gulf Coast and actually work with the survivors of Katrina. Then perhaps she can learn what being tired actually feels like.

Wonder if Bay is tired of hearing about the events of 9-11?. That was almost five years ago. Have the events of that day worn out their welcome too? Are tragedies only worthy of being memorable if they can be tied to patriotism, used to start wars, used to restrict rights and used to get votes? If a terrorist attack had been the cause of the death and destruction along the Gulf Coast would Ms Buchanan be "tired of it" now?

PoP...great rant! Bay Buchanan's comments are indicative of how her whole party thinks, IMO. I say...keep talking like that...the more America hear's shit like this...the more chance they have of waking up.

Neil, she's Pat Buchanan's sister and a tv commentator. She pops up in debates to represent the republican side of things. She made this oomment on Wolff Blitzer's show yesterday.

Feel lucky that you don't know or have never been subject to Bay's bull.

I'm sure the Republicans would like to forget all about Katrina and all the other issues they have screwed up so bad.

Yes, life is so much more pleasant if we just ignore all those little "inconveniences". I'm sure her glasses must be "rose colored". The irony is that the American people ARE tired, but she's just missed the target of their anger.

I don't call 'em the sick far right for nothing. I was watching when the sick freaking b said it. People who don't have any empathy for others make good Republicans.

If there was a place that she could go, to relieve her soul, where she could get absolution and repent, a welcoming space...hmm?

Where could that be???

I know, McDonald's.

OOOOO, she needs to have her cell phone confiscated, blindfolded, and then dropped off in one of the parts of the Gulf Coast that hasn't been cleared (never mind rebult)where they're still finding bodies. What a bitch.

Have a great weekend, BTW.

Nothing new in my comment except to say, a nice piece of advice. Being an armchair critic is all well and fine, but go experience whatever it is you're rambling on about to get a real taste of the action!

Thanks for comment on granny

She's actually a dark gray and white but it's hard to pick it up at
night, even with the flash. She doesn't miss black and white by much.
Our other cat is definitely black and white. The only thing he seems
to be lacking is a brain.

Speaking of brains, I think Bay thought they said trains and missed hers.

I guess she doesn't care that they're still finding bodies down there right now. (Yes, big yawn.... Unless it's a body related to Bay, I guess).

Her wisdom is a bit flawed considering the fact that FEMA just got a butt whoopin'...about eight months overdue, by the way.

What would be too much?? I intend to get to that place where none of this matters - and stay there for at least Saturday!

OMG! She is the sister of Pat??? I did not know that. I'm even more creeped out now that I know that tidbit. Yeah she can rankle the senses most of the time. I like it when she is next to Donna (damn...can't think of her last name...the black lady)...oh just thought of it...Brazil. she usually gets her back good with common sense.

Bay just learned about Katrina, and already she's tired of it?

Oh yeah, I forgot; she must have flown over on her way down to the Mexican border -- a place she never tires of hearing about and riding around with the shotgun minutemen. Isn't that where she hangs out these days? Does she have a husband?

POP: As the President implored us during his last SOTU address, why dwell on the past? Clinging to the memory of Katrina only lessens the lessons the next expertly-managed disaster might teach us!

She's a typical Repub. They don't consider is old news to constantly throw around Clinton's name, but Katrina is old news? This administration and their mouthpieces are getting old.
