One more reason that Felines Rule

I hear a lot about dogs being so, so smart. Ha!

The other day Mr. Pop took Murphy the Dog out on the leash and while Murphy was sniffing around, Mr. Pop decided to pull up some little weeds that were growing where they shouldn’t. He was pulling up the weeds and tossing them in a pile to be picked up later. After he had pulled up several he turned around and saw Murphy trying to eat the discarded weeds. Murphy never eats grass but since Mr. Pop had tossed something, Murphy thought it must be food. Fortunately Mr. Pop stopped Murphy before he swallowed any of it.

A human throws something on the ground and a dog automatically thinks that something must be eatable? Never will you find a cat that will do something that dumb. We cats may not be Mensa members, but we aren’t fruitcakes either.

Here’s what a cat does. A cat rumples up a little rug so that when Pop comes in with the container to fill the food bowl, she trips on the rug and spills about ten cups of dry cat food all over the floor. I’m telling you guys, it works every time. No matter how fast your human can move, you’ll get to eat a whole lot of kibbles before they can clean it all up.

So you tell me, who’s smarter, felines or canines?

Have a wonderful weekend and tell someone that you love them

Sincerely,
Fred the Cat (the cat who loves you guys)

So that is where BooBoo the cat learned that... I wonder how he established contact with Fred?

Oh no. BooBoo must be blogging too!

Fred, are you still getting away with that? You are one deviously sly creature.

The stray cat we've recently taken in still likes to go outside now and then, and sometimes chews on the grass, never on the weeds I pull. Very discriminating!

Fred, you are absolutely right. Which is why I much prefer cats to dogs. Plus that whole "adoration" thing we humans get from dogs? Annoying as hell.

Fred, Fred, Fred -- you're missing out on a whole range of taste sensations by not gobbling up stuff humans drop on the floor. I've had some great inter-intestinal fun chomping on hair elastics, cotton balls, toothpicks, newspaper, ribbons, flowers and feathers to name a few.

cats are easily smarter. They push there food bowl into the middle of the floor so we can trip over it, refill it and not get all the little bits of food so they have a snack for later.

fred yo, you had the whole case made at leash . . .dogs have to be stupid to submit to such treatment. minstrel's goldens were out at my barn yesterday. a mouse ran for cover from the haystack and they just stood there. wagging their stupid tails.

stupid and useless.

Hey Fred-I can help my human with the commenting now, since they've finally settled on my name.

I look forward to years of trickery here... they are in for it. No matter what I get into, they always think I'm the cutest little creature ever! What a sweet gig for a near-orphan.

Have a fine weekend, Fred and both Pops. And be nice to your dear Mrs.Pop!

Cats have it all over dogs, Fred.

The Pussies for Peace have just about mastered the doorknob on my bedroom. Short of being able to turn the knob, they are able to make a bunch of banging racket against the door until either MathMan or I get up and fee them.

The like to make The Baby drop food when she feeds them. Clever cats!

I don't know, both animals have done a great job of getting humans to submit to their wills... Different tactics used, but both effective. Dogs act like clowns(and are by far more entertaining) and Cats act aloof. Thereby attracting the appropriate slave. (owner) I've owned or should I say been owned by both species, and they are both equally intelligent. They just play to they're strengths!

Fred is a cool cat! you better have Murph checked out though because I never had a dog that would just eat anything but my last buddy loved to gobble up ants as they tried to get away. I thought it was more of a game to him on second thought he liked fly's and moqquito's too. Aww forget what I said, dogs!

Reminds me of the comic strip "Get Fuzzy" - the dog, Satchel, refers to things he eats off the ground as "UGO's" - Unidentified Ground Objects. Dogs always eat UGO's, it's as if the only way they can tell if something is edible is to actually eat it. If it's not edible, Oh well!

My cat Baxter eats nothing but dry cat food. If you occasionally offer him a piece of people food he is very cautious. He sniffs. He licks tentatively. And like as not he may not eat it at all, but look at you as if to say "Are you trying to POISON me?" and walk away in a huff.

No doubt cats are the superior animal.

I used to take Hank over to my mom's on occasion, and within half an hour he'd have her three dogs trembling in the basement afraid to come upstairs.

I'm definitely a cat person... so I'm with you. I definitely think cats think things through a bit more than dogs, at least based on what I've observed.

I agree with Homer Simpson's boss Monte Burns: "All Dogs Are Idiots."

It doesn't mean I don't like dogs it just means they can't live with me.

I knew my kitties were doing that on purpose! They also try to trip me with their bodies when I'm on the stairs. Then they'll figure out how to open the closet where the food is and have a FEAST while I lie at the bottom of the stairs, paralyzed. Those dirty rotten sneaks.

Fred, BonnieBird the cat here. Cats are WAY smarter, Fred, or at least I think we are. My brother ClydieBoy and I did eat vomited-up spaghetti once from one of the Snave kids, but I don't think it was that bad. Dogs? Hell, they eat POOP!! As well as vomit, whether it be their own or that of others.
