The Smile Contagion

Fred the Cat here, and even I am smiling ear to ear and whisker to whisker. I’m not sure what the news was this week. We cats don’t pay much attention to that sort of thing, but whatever is was, it must have been good. Mr. Pop and her highness have been floating on a cloud ever since Wednesday morning. They were giving each other high fives and dancing around like children. Kind of frightened me at first, but hell, their smiles were so big I soon knew there was nothing to worry about.

They were saying things like, “Good riddance you bastards”. At first I thought they had lost it, because they were saying this and no one else was in the room with them. Then they would laugh and whoop and holler. These were some happy humans.

Like I said I don’t know what this is all about, but their smiles are contagious and I caught it too.

You guys have a great weekend and if you caught the smiles this week, enjoy it. We sure are!

Hi Fred,

My humans were doing that silly Snoopy Dance all over the house. There they were imitating some deranged beagle. It was enough to make any self respecting feline leave home, but they do serve good food and have a warm bed. Once must maintain ones priorities.

Hi Fred,
Zac the Cat here and the I understand your position concerning the humans you live around. Beach Bum and Dragonwife have both been rather happy since Wednesday morning and Beach was very happy yesterday saying something about some SOB Allen having to look for a new job.
Oh no, got to run. Beach is coming back and he hates it when I try and sleep on the keyboard. He better not get too mad our I'll pee on it next time.

Darling Fred, It was a historic week, one long time coming, the Democrats are back. I haven't been so happy since the repeal of Prohibition. I can't think of a better reason to jump for joy. Let's all party like it's 1936!

Fred, I know you probably don't care about the opinions of dogs but my ridiculous retriever is disappointed his issues weren't addressed. He wants national vet insurance and a milk bone in every dish. Doggie rain coats, boots and sweaters should be outlawed along with noises that hurt the ears like Barry Manilow. When I asked our little fat cat about these issues he told me to buzz off because he was taking a nap.

MWA HA HA HA HA!!!!!

Silly humans.

Did they remember to feed you Fred?

Living with them is going to be different, but fun.

Humans are crazy Fred, it's fun to just sit and watch them.

Hah, what a sight for a cat to see folks laughing, smiling, and high-fiving while simultaneously saying "Good riddance you bastards." Really, a videotape of that, without the context would be hilarious. You could send it to Borat and invite him over to interview you on strange American customs.

All the cats and humans at our house are smiling and grinning (the cats are better at grinning), except for one cat, Alex, who seems to be a Republican. Where did we go wrong?? At least he's not a fundy-christian type, he's more the "this is my room and my stuff and you cats will have to get your own" type.

I told our kitty cat the good news. He was his usual reserved self, but I caught him smiling when Roger and I danced around the house doing our "We Threw The Bums Out" dance.

Don't have a cat, but if I did, he or she would probably sympathize with you, Fred.

Instead, since you're all smiles, I give you a joke another little bird told me:

What's the difference between Congress and the Library of Congress?

At the Library of Congress, you're not supposed to lick the pages...

PoP,
Had to go do real work inthe netherlands Wednesday and didn't get a chance to come over here and say YAHOODY!!!

BTW, Germany plans to try Rummy, Gonzales and Tenet, among others, for war crimes over the Gitmo stuff.

Have a great weekend - this is the last weekend for the Prince to do soccer until I have to freeze my butt off again when April comes around and soccer practice starts again.

Hi Fred,

Your humans just don't know or appreciate how sauve you really are. My human was happy too, but he thinks were still in trouble.

He keeps saying sanity better return soon or he'll go crazy. He don't know that he really is crazy. Oh well another day to rest and get my cat naps in.

Hola Federico: Minstrel's been in the same silly mood. I just wish he'd knock off with the singing. He's no Britney that's for sure. Not that I mind at all, he's been taking a little extra time to jiggle the haystacks and send the mouse enemies scurrying each morning. Those are some great choppers you got there, if you can ever talk PoP into a road trip as we say out west mi barn est su barn mi ratitos est su ratitos. We can send the humans off to do the Griswald at the canyon and have ourselves a hunting weekend.

Fred,

Panzon here. Nice teeth. How often do your humans take you in for cleanings?

I have to go at least once a year. The actual process isn't that bad, since I'm totally out, but I have to fast before the procedure and of course I hate that.
