What are they trying so hard to hide?

So now we hear that Rove is spending all his time firing up the Republican base by telling them that if the mean old Democrats should take the House in November, they will investigate what the Republicans have been doing. Seems to me that if they have done nothing wrong they wouldn’t be so very afraid of investigations.

Karl's other threat to Republicans is that if the Democrats take control of the House they will begin impeachment hearings against the president. If the president has done nothing impeachable, why is Karl worried?

When a party is afraid of what they have been doing being exposed, I would guess they have something very large to hide.

As one former slave is reputed to have said to a former slaveowner, "Bottom rail on top this time." (Ken Burns' Civil War series).

But seriously, folks ...

I honestly don't see Bush getting impeached. What I DO see, however, is a large number of his aides and even a Cabinet Secretary or two going to jail for varying amounts of time.

Ironic; one of the few things that this bunch does well is "running". Although in the past, that's translated to running for office. Now it seems to be showing up as "running scared".

Both House Democratic Leader Pelosi and DNC Chairman Howard Dean stated yesterday that impeachment is not a priority, the main items on the Democratic agenda is undong the damage done by the Bush Administration with the aid of the rubber stamp Republican Congress-as well it should be.

PoP,

The Republicans controlled the House & Senate. Clinton had done nothing impeachable.

You know the rest.

Sigh. When we on the Right justified the NSA snooping with "If you've got nothing to hide, why worry?" all we heard was the ACLU-esque whining from the Left. Now ol' Rovey takes a page out of the Howard Dean playbook, and y'all cry foul?

At long last, hippies, have you no shame?

What i don't get is why they think we should vote against the Democrats so the Republicans won't get investigated and Bush won't be impeached. What set of thought patterns do you have to possess to think that the American people are afraid of the Republicans being investigated? Sixty Nine percent of America no longer supports Bush. That is a landslide by any measure. Bush would do the Republicans a favor by stepping down. Thankfully, he won't.

Well, I for one want to know what the Democrats are going to do FOR ME, not TO Bush. After they go about the business of seeing to the issues I care about-you know, the ones that affect my daily life-then they are welcome to investigate and impeach to their hearts content. Any ideas otherwise, and they lose my vote. More importantly, they will lose the votes of most independants and what few Republicans they might win over, as well as a vital number of Demcorats, like myself. That just leaves a majority of Democrats, which means they probably lose yet another election.

Health care, the environment, the Iraq and Afghan Wars, terrorism, education, the economy, minimum wage, energy policy, gas prices, immigration, etc., etc. Those are the things I want to know they are going to be working on, which means impreachment is far, far, far down on the list. Sorry folks, I know some here might not like that, but that's just the way it is. If it means impeachment proceedings are tabled in order to get to a consensus on these issues, so be it. George Bush being impeached isn't putting one loaf of bread on my table.

Ahem. Perhaps we use the argument because we (the spied) have done nothing to warrant (no pun intended) having our conversations listened to, while, on the other hand, some very serious crimes have been committed by the very politicians who fear investigation.

But I'm just a hippie. All I know is that I just smoked my last blunt, and I haven't hugged my oak tree today.

I think the issues speak for themselves and our Georgie is indeed down the list of priorities. He'll be feelin' the shame soon enough.

Very logical statement, but logic is lost on Repubs.
