Wanna see the claws come out?

Right now the fastest way to make my claws or Pops come out is to hear someone say if their Democratic candidate doesn’t win they are going to vote for Senator McCain.

To us that is the most selfish, self-centered remark anyone can make. It says if you don’t get your way, you are willing to punish the country and the world for four more years.

Sure we all want our favorite candidate to win the nomination, but let’s be realistic here. Does anyone want to wear their smug, I guess I showed you, smile for four years as our country stays on the same, if not worse, course than we have all experienced these past seven and a half years? Pop and I hope not. We hope Americans in the Democratic party are not that cruel, vindictive and stubborn.

Oh a lighter note, Pop bought a new rug for my bedroom and she gave me a smooth stone about the size of a man’s fist. It’s so smooth and cool and I can rub my head on it forever. My bedroom now has spa like qualities. I rock!

Have a great weekend and try to keep your claws to yourself, we will.

Sincerely,
Fred the Cat (the cat who loves you guys!)

Congrats on your new rock. Don't forget it will also give you weather reports. Just roll it outside for a while and then roll it back in. If it is hot it is sunny out and if it is wet it is raining. Very handy.

You do rock Fred, that is for certain!

And I agree with you. People are stupid and selfish.

They are cutting off their own noses and their faces as well as our country will suffer from such spite.

I think anyone who says this is even worse than a repuglican. How effing stupid can people be?

Perhaps, Fred, you could make some midnight jaunts to steal the breath of these idiots?

So you like this rock? I'll have to give one or two to my kitties to see if they like rocks too. Thanks for the tip, and enjoy your spa!

About half of the people who supported McCain in the 2000 primary said that they wouldn't vote if Bush got nominated. It would have been nice had they kept their word, but they didn't. This is just a combination of sour grapes and a sad, pathetic last-ditch effort to influence the superdelegates. It seems to be working, too....... they're being influenced to move toward Obama in droves. If you want to unite the party, you can't choose the candidate that is causing the polarization.

I'm hopeful that by the time the November elections roll around, the party will be united behind the candidate. The convention will be a place of healing and forging a strong and unbeatable path to the White House.

Have a great weekend, fred.

These statements are disturbing. I don't really like Hillary but I would vote for her because I believe she will be the lesser of two evils. I believe she will do less damage then McCain.

I believe Fred is the person to deal with these people. If I hear someone say this I will send them for a 15 minute session with Fred.

Thanks.

i've read some things on blogs i truly respect that have really upset me.
people who refuse to vote for anyone bit clinton and who actually were selfish and callous enough to directly reply to overseas writers that THEY didn't CARE what happened to the rest of the world if another republican was elected. that they HOPED that if obama was the nomineee that the democratic party went down in flames(as they put it)because NEXT election, the democrats will have "learned their lesson"

well needless to say, the people that were responding overseas were not happy and neither was i.

we've got to pull together. we owe it to ourselves and our children AND the rest of the world the WE have screwed up so badly over the last 2 terms.

how selfish can some people be.
being angry, even with every right to BE angry doesn't make it ok to not give a damn about anyone or anything else.
you tell em fred!

Obviously, we've seen plenty of that bullshit on the sphere, and I suspect much of it is started by repig provocateurs who can often be exposed with advanced google searches. I have yet to have someone say anything that retarded within my hearing, but fortunately, I don't get out much...

Nice blog, POP :). I'll come back when I can... Meantime, keep up the good fight, my felinophile friend.

Now go get stoned on yer new rug - I hope it's hemp ;-}

very feng shui, fred.

the people who are the "single candidate" types are either sexist or racist, IMHO. the ones who will have to take the lead in healing must be Clinton and Obama. When it's all said and done, how they are with each other will be critical. and will someone PLEASE shut Bill up!!

Fred, you are very wise. Baxter sends his regards and compliments you on your new rock. He also likes to rub his head on things like that - especially his Female Human's mouse, while she is using it. It makes for interesting internet surfing for us both.

I agree completely (and so does Baxter) that those who say they won't vote for the other candidate if their candidate loses are being very shortsighted. Let's hope they change their minds.

You're right, Fred. I can't, even in my most incoherent moments, imagine that Barack Obama would be a worse President than John McCain. McCain's starting to look a lot like GWB, with the added handicap of being crazy as an outhouse rat.

Glad to see Pop finally finished your spa.

I'm with Fred & you, Pop, concerning the misguided supporters of Sen. Clinton. But what I want to know more about is this smooth rock. Is it a cat thing? Has your human rubbed catnip all over it? Is it naturally smooth, i.e., river washed or has it been tumbled & polished? I realize your life is quite busy, what with napping & head rubbing, but if you could answer my inquiries at some point in cat time I'd be a happy cat human once again. So would our new kitty, Tab Benoit.

McCain would be my last choice as presidnet of anything. I'm praying Obama gets in. Unfortunately I run into wacky people who plan to write in Nader, Kuchinich and others!!! I tell them we can't afford to waste votes like that but they say it's their vote and they need to 'be true' votes for 'their' candidate. True, it is their vote to cast, but why throw it away to make some lame point?

hey Fred--
I was thinking about those folks last night and reasoned myself into a nasty scenario, indeed.

if those folks who are threatening to vote for McCain if their candidate doesn't win the primary [and I've heard advocates of both dem candidates make that threat] simply stay home or vote for a write-in candidate, they will have delivered one vote to McCain -- by not opposing him.

if they actually vote for McCain, they will have given him 2 votes: the one they gave to McCain AND the one they didn't give to the democrat.

and, I agree with you, Fred. cutting off their noses to spite their faces [and the country's] is so vindictive.
humans can be really stupid sometimes. I sure wish you'd give em some lessons in feline pragmatism.

"if they actually vote for McCain, they will have given him 2 votes: the one they gave to McCain AND the one they didn't give to the democrat."

Following that further, they are giving him FOUR votes, once you add the ones that they aren't giving Nader and the Libertarian guy whatzizname.

No. Everyone has one vote and only one, and they either give it to someone or they don't. Any further complication of it is just rhetoric.
