Welcome to the Morning Martini
Welcome to the Morning Martini
Let's talk politics, shall we?
You probably know me as "Pissed off Patricia". Here's why I took that name. When my neighbor, a member of the Guard who was in his fifties, was sent to Iraq at the beginning of the Iraq invasion, I became sincerely pissed with this administration and nothing has happened since that time to make me feel any differently.
Hopefully I will be able to have daily entries here and hopefully you'll share your thoughts with me. We're going to have fun!
See ya later,
pop

Congratulations on your brand-spanking new blog! It's good to see you on the job again, stomping out ign'ance.
This now becomes my first stop every day for the "morning martini."
Thanks aikane for joining me for a Morning Martini. I'll try my best not to let you drown...opps, I mean not to let you down.
PoP - this is fabulous! I LOVE your blog name almost as much as I LOVE martinis! (vodka with 6 large olives)
Congratulations. I'll visit often.
Congratulations, one of many I am sure, to you Pissed Off Patricia!
Make mine a double and hold the olive.
You can be sure that I will be one of those, slouching on the barstool, regulars.
I may have have not been the first to comment, but maybe I was the first to link to your new site.
Unless of course Mr. Aikane Leo beat me to the punch!
Thought I would meander over and check out the decor. The crowd looks familiar.
I love you guys! Thank you so much for coming by and linking and just everything. Please come back often. I have a ton of gin (my personal favorite, Bombay Sapphire, please) a ton of vodka. And,olives are as plentiful as lies in a george bush white house.
Shaken or stirred?
POP, stirred so as not to break off too much ice and water down the martini. Please make mine with Grey Goose and jalepano-stuffed olives, if available. Mmmm, make it a double, please.
Congratulations on the new site!
POP,
I have to be careful coming to your site, Marisa might get jealous.
ds, I happen to have a bottle of Grey Goose and I'll take the blue cheese out of the olives and insert a jalepano instead. We only serve doubles here so you're good to go.
Fritz, what happens at the Morning Martini stays at the Morning Martini, just like the bartender's tips. :)
Nice to see you. Between Craig's site and yours, I'll never get any work done.
PoP, I want to get personal for a moment. During the election year and fall of 2004, I wanted to understand this ‘new’ thing they called blogs. I searched for Houston-area blogs, which led me to ‘Winding Road in Urban Area’. That is where I saw the blogsite: BlondeSense. I became a fan in no time. I enjoyed the posts and the irreverence and I became an addict. I enjoyed the politics but I also loved the humor that you provided.
I don’t understand what all happened in the last few months, but I sensed the loss of humor from the site and noticed your absence. The posts that you made during Christmas time really affected me. I am sad to understand that those stories may have led to tensions among the contributors; I do think that they were wrong. What always attracted me to BlondeSense was a sense of humanity.
I certainly look forward to great times ahead at your new location and wish you the very best of future laughs and more importantly, good dialogue.
Well, I posted a post at the site and the site owner didn't think it was appropriate. She said because I encouraged people to get away from computers, newspapers, etc and just kick back once in a while to save their sanity, that I was steering people away from her blogsite. That was just plain nuts in my opinion. She was also unhappy because the Christmas stories were "to sweet" for her taste. I couldn't help it if some things turned out "sweet" in my life, lots of things didn't.
I sure do appreciate you hanging in there with me. Also thank you for your thoughts regarding the Christmas stories.
This is all kind of scary for me since I don't know what the hell I'm doing. But hey, I can write stuff and you can write stuff, so I guess this is really all we need. Okay, that and a great big laugh ever now and then.
That's the spirit PoP, blog on and let the Chimpster fall were he may!
PoP, got you bookmarked now. Great post, and best of luck with the new site - it's obvious we'll be seeing familiar names here frequently.
Mmm, bleu cheese. Love those olives too -- I just didn't want to be too extravagant with my request.
Nice gin (& vodka) joint you have here. All the top shelf condiments!
Great site! Glad to know about it -- and I'll link....
PoP - Just got your invite so here I am! Nice to see that you're writing again. :)
Hey PoP,
I decided to drop on by. I too used to visit BlondSense to see your posts. I loved your story about your little dog at Christmas!
Pogo,
I know what you're talking about. I used to be a prolific poster on Prodigy many years ago. I neglected my weaving business and vowed I'd never spend so much time posting again. But I have found a home of kindred spirits at Craig's site and have decided "fuck it life is short" and have pulled up a bar stool.
Hope no one minds I prefer wine.
Ah, now I get it. Blog on sister.
