What a Moment

Yesterday morning when those two female reporters stepped off that plane from North Korea and into the arms of their family and friends, the tears flowed fast and freely here at my house. It was so happily emotional.

While of course the folks at Fox News felt an obligation to suggest that something nefarious had taken place in order to negotiate their release, I think the rest of us proudly watched with joy as our country did this without a gun being fired or a bomb being dropped.

I do have to wonder if we had a President McCain now, could this have had the same outcome with the same diplomacy?

If we had the same result, it would have been Bill Clinton doing it. I don't have to wonder if George W. Bush could have pulled this off. The answer is no.

Are they jealous much? Yes that was a rhetorical question.

Let's be fair--

Bill Clinton's & the administration's approach poses risks.

They could potentially legitimize peaceful diplomacy and undermine neoconservatives' efforts to keep Americans safe as they've done in Iraq.

Bill Clinton is the type of walking Americana Kim Jong Il drools over. It had to be Bill and no one else. He probably presented him with a Lewinsky cigar as a good will gesture.
