My Own Little Test

This is a little test I personally came up with and use to help me when I choose which candidate I will vote for in a presidential election.

I ask myself, if my family and I were going overseas for a month, which of the candidates would I trust to house-sit my home. This person would take care of the daily duties of my home, take care of my pets, plants, and using my check book, take care of all my financial obligations. Which of the candidates would I trust to do all these things in a caring responsible way?

Using my test, of the candidates we have now, who would get your vote?

I would vote for the candidate who has accepted the least amount of cash from the corporate criminals who are stealing this country and running it into the ground. And seeing how they al have run this country into the ground, next time I'm voting green.

That's an interesting idea.

With that in mind, our house would sit empty! ; (

Since we can't call Al Gore a candidate yet then I would have to say John Edwards. He was brought up in the same environment I was...in a small cotton manufacturing town. His success coming from that environment shows me he can get the job done. There is also his wife Elizabeth who actually should be the one running for president.

Nobody on earth would be willing to go through this cat management routine we have.

Besides, if Gore were coming over, I would want to stay home! (he's not actually running though... not yet anyway)

I had to run this one by Stella because she, of course, has the final word in such monumental decisions around here. In her opinion, Obama is the candidate most likely to run and play and give her lots of treats and show her an all-around good time. She thinks he would also give a pretty good belly-rub.

Well, Jimmy Carter, of course, if he could (or would) run again..hell, he and Roslyn might even build us a house!

Well I know who I wouldn't pick, Hillary Clinton. She campaigned for Senate in New York knowing that she was going to run for President the whole time, all the while poo-pooing anyone who alluded to such. Just like saying, "sure, I can house sit" all the while knowing you were going to be busy moving out your own apartment that month.

I'd pick Senator Feingold. But he's not running because he knows that he has an obligation to represent his constituants in such a narrowly divided Senate. I guess that's why I'd ask him to house sit, he'd tell me yes or no, upfront.

None of them. They are all too self-involved. The only way I might trust them, is if the national media was visiting everyday. Then they could not afford to ignore, or forget to take good care of my pets and property.

The overwhelming lead that Gore has does not bode well for the Dem Presidential hopes. All I can say is:

Much more validity to this test than the "which one would you like to have a beer with" test that apparently determined the outcome of the last two presidential elections. I'd have to say I'd ask Obama to housesit, although I'd request that he didn't smoke while he was there. And I'd like to ask Al Gore, but I'm not sure if he would commit to watching the house. If Hillary would send Bill over to check on things, I just might consider her, although it would be much more fun to hang out with Bill than to leave him alone in my empty house.

I would ask Al Gore, even though he hasn't declared yet, because I know he would turn down the heat and turn off the lights, too.

Fred The Cat. Seriously. He may toss a few things into the pool I don't have, and lay around a bit much, but at least I know my house and contents will still be here when I come back!!!

I'd have to say Al Gore, Hillary would be snopping through all my stuff lol Edwards would probably make a mess, and Obama would probably be responsible but we'd come home to an empty fridge lol

Sorry, PoP, test is bogus. I'd want Mitt Romney, but I'd never vote for him for president. I'm sure I'd come home to a clean house and there wouldn't be any wild parties or dead folks in the swimming pool.

i'm sticking with The Pool Girls. every time they have watched my place while i'm gone i come back to a spotlessly clean, house full of totally spoiled animals.

but, if the girls were not available and it was a crisis gig taking me away suddenly i'd have to go with bill richardson. he's closest, he knows how to mind his own business and when to reach out across the borders. that's all important stuff out in the country.

I'd need someone who would take care of two totally spoiled dogs and someone to feed the birds (tons of food). Elizabeth Edwards would come the closest.

How about Dennis Kucinich? His honesty keeps him in constant trouble with the corporate oligarchy that's running the country. He loves kids, animals, working people, and I'd hand him my checkbook without even thinking about it based on his record.

The dogs think they would like Obama. He would probably get along well with them. As for Hill, they put their heads down and looked a bit frozen. Then there's Edwards - I don't think he could be bothered. Now, Gore - that's their number one choice because they think he'd hang out with them and pat them lots and lots.

Take care of my pets? Hmm, I don't think I could trust any of these mofos to watch my dog. Maybe Al Gore or Wes Clark.

I could just imagine what George Dubya would do to my place. Oy.

If I could only choose from the people who have officially laid bare their presidential ambitions, then I would vote for the one who would take the fewest of my belongings, would make my life the least hellish, and would shove the smallest shaft up my fine-feathered ass.

But if I could choose anybody, I'd choose John Kerry. Two reasons: 1) I'd trust him to keep an eye on my place, and 2) as long as he's here, I want to be elsewhere...

Gore-o-Bama. Yes, it's the audacity of hope on my part. I just "hope" they mind their own business and don't go snooping through my drawers. But, then, EVERYBODY snoops when they house-sit.

...uh, don't they?
