Okay, I was all excited yesterday to watch the moon bombing. As it turned out the whole experiment was a bomb. I’m wondering, were we were punked by NASA?
The point of the mission was to collect data on the presence of water on the lunar surface, not to provide some big fireworks show for a bunch of people who want their science all big and shiny. The analysis of the results from the experiment will eventually yield useful data, but nobody can guarantee what that data will show until the analysis is complete.

ReplyDeleteNASA's page on the mission said it would be several weeks before they were finished analyzing the data.
